Ah well, ye olde Late '08 MBP is still holding out, my biggest beef is the battery, should have held out 'till that spring...
Gee, was I right or right?I'm 99.99999% sure there won't be any mention of the laptops at the April 8th event. People, you have to look at history to infer the future.
March 17, 2009, Apple introduced iPhone OS3, and on March 3, 2009, the iMacs, Mac Pros, and Mac Minis were updated silently.
March 27, 2008 Apple introduced iPhone OS2, with the software roadmap. A week later, the iMacs were updated, silently.
Therefore, if the MacBook Pros and Mac Pros are to be updated soon, it would most likely be a week or two after this event, because it's too late for it to happen a week or two before this event. Bring optimistic, it might just be updated in Friday April 9, but I doubt that.
I'd put my money on April 12-13 or april 19-20.
Dear all,
Just for my understanding. is the i7 quad-core or not?
With kind regards,
Bas
WOW!
13" Macbook Pro BOUGHT!!!
4GB and i5 in a 13" model for 1199? SOLD.
Fantastic update and was more than I was hoping for.
Nice. Even the 13" now has discrete graphics. Though they are now using POS Intel integrated GPU's again.

I am surprised there are SO MANY people
NOT READING THE SPECS!
there is NO i7 in the 17" model.
.4GHz or 2.53GHz Intel Core i5 processor with 3MB shared L3 cache; or 2.66GHz Intel Core i7 processor with 4MB shared L3 cache
Agreed, but this is Apple.

There is no i3 or i5 in the 13" Macbook Pros, and there is NO i7 in the 17" model.
People have been waiting so long that they aren't even bother reading the specs before they are buying.
Still no 1080p on the 15". HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
Agreed, but this is Apple.

Most important feature:
On-demand performance.
Off-the-charts efficiency.
The 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro models come standard with automatic graphics switching. Its a breakthrough technology from Apple that switches graphics processors on the fly to give you performance when you need it (when youre playing the latest 3D game, for example) and better battery efficiency when you dont (such as when youre reading email). MacBook Pro transfers the workload between the powerful discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics processor and integrated Intel HD Graphics so seamlessly, you wont even notice. Whether youre using applications like Aperture, Motion, or Final Cut Pro or just surfing the web, your MacBook Pro always knows which processor to use. You dont have to log out, shut down, or change your preferences. Automatic graphics switching does it all for you.

... you cant even see 1080p on a 15" screen. there is no difference to the human eye.
Still no 1080p on the 15". HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
It's not a huge disappointment unless you had unrealistic expectations.
Price up again in the UK where I work. I'd say it was unbelievable but it's every time Apple release something now over here that the price goes up. The pound has rallied from 1.30 to the dollar to about 1.55 since the last update too so they should have been cheaper than they were!. Tw@s. If only there was a greater choice in OS's I'd give Apple the bullet at the drop of a hat.

The new 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro models feature Intel Core i5 and i7 processors and Apple's new automatic graphics switching technology that toggles seamlessly between powerful NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and energy efficient Intel HD Graphics processors.
I agree. The standard graphics now uses shared memory. Seems like the MB/MBP are going backwards in technology instead of forwards.
