Unfortuantely for me, I do not have my charger but have 80%. i was aple to download in 12 minutes, started preparing, then got a "PAUSE" message stating that it needs to be connected to the charger. Fingers crossed that I will not have any problems when I get home in 4 hours.

I'm in the UK 9.1 Public beta and showing my watchOS 1.0.1 - your software is up to date. I've restarted my phone numerous times and been trying for an hour. Was wondering if the 9.1 beta was the issue but appears people have been successful elsewhere. I'm so tempted to try and install iOS 9 if this doesn't resolve soon. Any suggestions greatly welcomed

an Everton supporter from Birmingham, fair enough!-

do backup
attach to itunes in dfu mode
update to 9.0

Check your apple watch app on phone go to profiles under General tab make sure you didn't install the beta watch profile if you did delete it and reboot the watch

This resolved the issue for me where the settings were telling me 1.0.1 was up to date. Thanks for posting this -- I completely forgot I had installed the profile on the Watch as well. My hero!

44 minutes for me. Slow hotel connection. iPhone 6+ right next to watch on charger to limit Bluetooth distance. Love new software for "old" devices.

will I live in a 1870 stone farm house with thick walls and I can guarantee you 100% I made a call well out of blue tooth range this morning. on my apple watch.

In a totally different part of the house but with wifi coverage, away from phone (in fact I have tried with bluetooth off...and it worked)

It didn't work with powerline adapters I had to setup a 'roaming' wifi network with apple gear.

Have you got powerline adapters or wifi extenders?

cheers

No powerline adapters here. But you are saying you did something that according to Apple, shouldn't be possible until Watch OS 2.0. I didn't try turning off bluetooth and attempting a call. Yours is the first I've heard of this being possible before version 2. I assume you were running Watch OS 1 at the time.

Arggg...hit go with pout looking at the size or considering the super slow wifi at work. Started out at 4 hours....when I was only going to be at work for another three. Fortunately went down to an hour within 15 minutes or so. Fingers crossed it finishes before it leave.

So am I right in thinking that now the watch can access WIFI when the phone isn't in range to make calls and update apps?

Hi

yes the same software from the apple store Liverpool as I say though it only worked with TM and Airport Express

cheers

I'm running 9.1 Beta on my iPhone 6. I deleted the beta profile on my watch (via my phone), and then did a hard restart (Home and off buttons for 10 seconds) to both my watch and my iPhone. When it reloaded, I checked again for an update, and it was there for me.

I had trouble with that - but this extra worked for me:

1. I double clicked home button and removed background apps.

2. Then I kept iPhone 6+ beta profile 9.1 but deleted the beta profile on watch (via iPhone's watch app), and then I performed a two-button hard reset on watch and iPhone both. Just like you did.

3. Last step - airplane mode to remove any cellular dominance, and then turned on WIFI + Bluetooth. Checked for watchOS update and ... Joy! Downloading now :)

Note: This took me 5 mins because beta can be tricky, but I love my beta goodies.

(could not imagine waiting over a year for android to confirm we will never release a certain os to a certain phone)

Same for me..ugh

Verifying seems to be taking forever. Does anyone know how long that step takes?

Mine has been on verifying for about 10 minutes and the gear is not spinning on the little apple watch icon. Getting a little nervous o_O
