I'm liking the new unlocking a mac sound. Much better than the DING!

any idea what that sound is? I thought something was wrong with my watch when I heard it. Almost sounds like a type writer but it could be the sound of a lock unlocking.

Unless your 6S+ has 10.3 it's not likely to pair. Again wOS requires the latest iOS to integrate.
Everything requires the latest everything now. Developers (and manufacturers) have given up on backwards compatibility.

Sounds like an unlocking lock to me too. Whatever it is it's more subtle, and I like that.

An apparent and aggravating bug in the installer… it threw up a message saying that I had to have the watch on the charger anytime it's under 50%... yet, my watch was at 89%. I was not allowed to proceed until I put my watch on the charging cable. Now I have to wait...

Glad I'm not the only one! I haven't done this update but updates in the past it would let me do it. I would download it and be in the middle of it and then makes me charge it saying it's too low to complete. I only update it with my charger now.

This is new for me but it says charged at least 50% when it has before said at least 50% and connected to charger.

Could be that they changed it slightly as the watch is already on my charger when I started the update.

Not much of an update in my opinion. Theatre mode . . . LOL!
I only upgraded one of my iPhones to the 10.3 and only one of my three watches to 3.2. I want to be able to use the other two watches on my 6S running 9.2 as well as the phone on 9.3 anytime I want. This will allow me to do that. I gave up my jailbreak on my 6S+ to upgrade one watch that really wasn't worth it.

Same here. I got to download but the update will have to wait as NOW it says 50% AND connected to charger.

Took so long for the update to upload to the phone, WTF. My internet is very fast so it much be the Apple servers.

Actually, I just think transferring the update to the watch went so slow because it did it through bluetooth. Yesterday, I transferred a playlist to my watch with about 64 songs on it and it took about an hour. Very slow over BT. I won't be doing that often.

I wonder what kind of wifi speed the watch actually can reach. It is really slow sending anything to the watch! I know the cpu and memory probably is pretty slow but 10-20 min for sending the update? It takes less time to download it from Apple to the phone..

I think what some don't realize is that the update has to download first and then the update has to be patched to the Apple Watch, which can seemingly take longer. They are essentially the same thing, but two different operations.

I typically never update on the first day, being Apple's servers are heavily trafficked. For some it's quicker and others it's not. Ultimately, I would like to see Apple alter the process of the updates or allow it more efficient if possible.

Does my watch have to be on the charger while the update is downloading on my phone? Or only once the download is done? I'm a little confused. I've tried downloading and installing the update twice, and both times it failed.
This third time, I've re initiated download of the update and have my watch on its charger at the same time.

Apple News notifications on the watch "Save for Later" button still do apparently nothing. A watch notification featuring only an article headline, with a "Save for Later" button, and a iOS News app with full articles and a section called "Saved" seems like a logical destination for this button action.
Maybe WatchOS 4 will have figured out such complexities.

Oh it is working now. i take it all back. what a useful feature.

you shouldn't need to have the watch on the charger until it actually attempts to install the software. you should be able to download the update to the phone first without worrying about the watch at all.

Hm, that's what I thought. I wonder why the first two attempts were botched.
This third attempt (watch on charger the entire time, even during download), and everything seems to be going well so far ...

edit, success

Theatre Mode is called Cinema Mode on my Watch (probably Australian English setting). That's a really odd localisation - you'd use the option in all types of theatres, Theatre Mode seems a lot more appropriate.

Battery seems fantastic, unplugged it at 6:00 and right now 11:54 I have 96%. Also, we got scribble for Spanish (MX)!
