“The watchOS 5.0.1 update is minor in scale and focuses on fixing bugs that have been discovered since the watchOS 5 update. According to Apple's release notes, watchOS 5.0.1 addresses an issue that caused a "small number of users" to see increased exercise minutes.”

Oh, well. I’ve been getting exercise credit for almost every minute I teach (I’m a professor), which has been nice, but obviously bogus. I guess I’ll have to go running tomorrow.

No, for many it just has no notifications. You just get a red dot - no haptic at all. Many people here and on reddit are having the same issue eve after doing what you said.
Yes, it’s quite odd. I had the same problem and in my case this specific change worked for me. Hopefully the bug is resolved quickly for you as it is incredibly frustrating to not have the vibration functionality working correctly.

Oh really? I don’t like having vibration on my iPhone as I receive a lot of emails during the day. Oh well, I’ll have to get used to it I suppose.

Thanks for confirming
Hope that it works for you and that Apple restores the functionality to how it was before in a future update.

The one bug I've found in the watch is that walkie-talkie seems to add spurious contacts to the list. Does anyone know if this is fixed?

Yeah, I have been getting mad calories since updating OS5. 500+ for a 5k run the other day; that usually gets me 370 calories. This seems to happen a lot with the big watch OS upgrades in my experience (series 0 guy) and it usually settles again after a .point update. To be honest i’ll be quite happy for them to go back to normal so I can tell what I’m doing again. Gonna give this a download now.

I'm sure Dan's a nice bloke... but can you get someone else. Mix it up. Videos are becoming un-watch-able. Pun intended. Haha.

After just 2 days with the AW4 Cellular, carrying the iPhone when I go out is a complete no-no.

It’s a wonderful feeling of freedom; now I realize how much useless social network and website checking I was doing. A complete revelation. This is the beginning of the end for the smartphone as far as I can tell.
I absolutely agree with you.Plus we are getting better bodies with the help of the Watch.

Maybe I am in the minority but my exercise minutes have been pretty accurate, but my move number while doing the exercise is what is higher than before. Will find out with a run tomorrow.

I did both the last two updates at work. watched both of them install, both times not on the charger. I don't have one at work.
The AW updates don’t work like this. It will download and prepare to install. It won’t install until the watch hits the charger. Even on the check for updates screen in the Watch app it states the Watch must be on the charger and the battery must be at least 50% before it will install. If you look at it the update will say waiting to install until it hits the charger. Once it’s on the charger it will auto install.

Just for the sakes of completeness, this update excludes the original v0 Apple Watch which is stuck on o/s 4 correct?

For me this update seems CREATE the problem it intended to fix.

Since updating this morning to 5.0.1 my exercise minutes and step count/distance are at zero. Stand is accurate. I cycle to work and on my feet 90% of the day.

I have a series 2.

Reboot your watch. Just hold both buttons down until you see the Apple logo.

So did they fix the infograph watch face? The date on the face is sometimes wrong, showing the previous date smh.

Edit: It’s actually embarrassing. I was at work the other day looking at my watch for the date and writing the wrong date on hospital forms smh.

Clicking on the date from the watch face opens the calendar that shows the right date but going back the the watch face still shows the wrong date. To fix the issue I have to swipe to a different watch face and then swipe back to infograph face...

Two separate days it has happened to me.

I was only getting that with the calendar, not he date, complication.

I think it may be fixed.

I hope they fix it. It’s embarrassing, I wrote the incorrect date on 2 separate occasions. I also edited my original post to include more details.

Me too. I think it was a bug that occurred when you use the calendar complication and have no appointments.

Recommend switching to the date complication until confirmed fixed.

I upgraded my S3 this afternoon and now the brightness is jacked all the way up. When I go into the settings it is set at the lowest setting, but is super bright. When I adjust the brightness up, it doesn't get any brighter. When I adjust it back down it doesn't go down. I compared with my wife's watch, and hers makes noticable adjustments on each setting change.

I tried shutting it off and turning it back on and I also restarted it. I would like to avoid a complete reset, but I may have no other choice.

Has anyone else noticed this?
