Can anyone confirm if this brings back the haptic tap when a mail notification comes in? Cheers!
New to the Apple Watch I was wondering why I wasn't getting that too. I believe iOS 12 actually changed the default behavior to off for mail vibrations. If you enable it on your phone you will get it on your watch. It's weird to look at your watch without a tap and have a mail message happen to have just come in and it is now on the screen as a notification.

After just 2 days with the AW4 Cellular, carrying the iPhone when I go out is a complete no-no.

It’s a wonderful feeling of freedom; now I realize how much useless social network and website checking I was doing. A complete revelation. This is the beginning of the end for the smartphone as far as I can tell.

I see AW as an evolution to the smartphone with AR glasses replacing the Aw screen. Everything we do on smartphones will change and be done differently in the future.

Yeah, I have been getting mad calories since updating OS5. 500+ for a 5k run the other day; that usually gets me 370 calories. This seems to happen a lot with the big watch OS upgrades in my experience (series 0 guy) and it usually settles again after a .point update. To be honest i’ll be quite happy for them to go back to normal so I can tell what I’m doing again. Gonna give this a download now.
It fixes the minutes not the calories unfortunately. How do you know the 370 was enough and correct before?

It was giving me standing credit all day every second!

Then when I'd lift weights and get my heart rate elevated, it wasn't tracking my exercise.

After updating to 5.0.1 last night I put the watch on charger at 55% and confirmed it was charging. Woke up and battery was drained. Also updated to Overcast 5.0.2 last night. Anyone else having issues?

My awards still aren’t showing up. In fact, it’s still a spinning wheel.

I had this same issue after upgrading from a Series 0. The fix is to press the activity app on the watch and follow through the setup there.
Mine didn't work as I had wheelchair not set. I had to select No. Everything re-appeared after that.

It’s not fixed the f-ugly achievement badges which look awesome on the phone’s activity app.

Do I need to pay the Apple tax for a S4 for them not to look like 1990’s jpeg images?

Same issue here. But in addition to that, I can't tell whether I like the Default Haptic or Prominent. Seems like the Default is shorter but sharper, more of a quicker but harder bite. Whereas the Prominent is just longer. Do you think Prominent is actually more noticeable to feel?

Apple has got themselves in a bind here.. You can never have Apple watch updates directly installed to the watch, because updates would be so big, they wouldn't even fit. So tethered/in range of iPhone, is the best your always gonna get..

Bit sad really, its the only/lonely device that CAN"T be updated without assistance.. all it needs is more storage. as that's the weakest link and/or possibly automatic wi-fi seup/password pulled from the phone.

Now I’m a little hesitant to update my S4 to WatchOS 5.0.1. I might just stay on WatchOS 5 for the time being, since I’m not having any issues.

Hope they fixed the swim activity distance accuracy- AW 3. It seems not to record turns anymore. Previously it worked perfectly.

Your watch will have the most massive amount of storage once molecular memory is economically viable.

I don’t know whether it’s correct against the baseline for that activity against the population at large, but I do know whether the effort is consistent with my own track record because I have like 3 years of data to compare it with now. So as I’m doing this for weight loss, the Watch attributing an extra 100 calories to a run that I didn’t do, means I’m hitting my goals earlier when I haven’t actually burnt that extra 100 calories and the reality is I’m then doing 700 calories a day rather than the 800 I should be doing based on my historical baseline.

The AW updates don’t work like this. It will download and prepare to install. It won’t install until the watch hits the charger. Even on the check for updates screen in the Watch app it states the Watch must be on the charger and the battery must be at least 50% before it will install. If you look at it the update will say waiting to install until it hits the charger. Once it’s on the charger it will auto install.

I don't know what to tell you about your watch, but my watch, at work did the upgrades. Not on the charger. I sat here and watched as the file was downloaded, verified and installed. I never got that message. In fact, I didn't want to leave work becuase I would have lost my Wi-Fi connection to my watch. Really, I am not lying about it. It really happened, but it's fine that you don't believe me.

Just tried it here. Downloads, prepares, and then sits at "waiting to install". I've never had an AW update install without being on the charger.

Ok, so I put my Watch on the charger this morning, before I get in the shower. After that, I go to put it on, and notice the charge is still really low. The watch indicates it is on the charger by displaying night stand mode. I decide to leave it on the charger until I'm ready to leave for work. After being on the charger for about an hour, it did not charge at all.
So, after the update to fix this issue (which I did not have), I now have the issue. o_O

It's more like...no one else knows what to tell you about your Watch. Because no one else's installs the update on the Watch until it is on the charger. o_O

Oh really? I don’t like having vibration on my iPhone as I receive a lot of emails during the day. Oh well, I’ll have to get used to it I suppose.

Thanks for confirming
If you use the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, you can set Watch-specific notification settings. There is an option to either mirror your iphone’s settings, or set different Watch settings.

Holy cow. I thought something was up. I charge my watch while I shower before work, and that usually gets it to 80%-100% full.

After watchOS 5.0, I'd sometimes take the watch off the charger and it would only be 30-50% charged.

watchOS 5.0.1 specifically says it fixes an issue that "could prevent the Apple Watch from charging". I wonder what that issue was.

No matter. This morning my watch charged to 100% again.
