Really odd, I’m living in Sweden and haven’t done any changes but had no problem doing ECG’s. Working as expected here. Only thing that’s different is that I have my phone and watch languages set to US English.

Edit: oh another thing but I’m not sure that it has anything to do with it, the watch is bought in the US. Anyway didn’t expect being able to do ECG! :)

Edit 2: phone bought in Sweden

Edit 3: Region set to Sweden

Seems like that is the caveat, that you need to have bought the watch in the US.
Im in sweden also, same settings as you, but does not work for me. Bought iPhone X and AW 4 Stainless in sweden tho.
Very unfortunate.

Is there any word what so ever, about when ECG might come to the EU?
Cos im guessing all of EU will be approved in one go!?

And of COURSE my first reading was too low to check for AFib.

DAMN YOU, RUNNING AND CYCLING!

Does somebody have this problem?

Got it installed, click on ECG and it tells me "To setup ECG open the Health App on your iPhone."

I open the Health App on my iPhone and there I am... does not tell me what to do from there. All my age and info is already filled out in there.

So how do I use this?

Once in the Health app you should be asked for your age again then promoted by a series of screens as such before being directed back to your watch for the actual ECG/EKG.

If you pay same or actually more for your device outside US Apple should work harder provide all the features. Also, is on their interest to make the user experience consistent. That's the point.

The prices depend on a lot of things like taxes on foreign products, the exchange rate etc. When it comes to features, not all features require extensive government regulation. Why don't you raise your voice against your government and get them to approve the feature instead if you believe you can do the job better?
A lot of governments are corrupt and it isn't as easy as flipping a coin to get them to approve a feature just because it saves lives. Negotiations go back and forth and each country works quite differently when it comes to medical care.

Probably the Watch unable to check with the server. Just keep trying and it'd eventually show up as an update. No need to worry.

How do you set this up? On my watch it says to open the health app on my phone. I do that but nothing happens.

i wonder if the heart rate sensor afib detection feature will be enabled for apple watch series 2 and 3 users? Given that the apple heart study was conducted on those watches...

Seems to work as advertised. Only caveat is you need to be sitting preferably and be perfectly still to get the best reading.

Yup did the trick, thanks. Are we able to join beta’s in the future or will that make the ecg stop working?
I think future betas will be ok, they just didn't put the EKG app in the 12.1.1 beta because it wasn't available yet.

How do you send your ECG results from the Health app? I can’t find that.
Do you have 12.1.1 beta on phone?
