Apple Releases watchOS 5.2 With ECG Functionality in Europe and Hong Kong, AirPods 2 Support

It’s weird why they Apple haven’t applied in more countries I don’t understand why

There’s always been a remote app on the watch. It works perfectly well for me controlling my Apple TV?
That is not the TV Remote. That is the iTunes remote. The ATV Remote has Siri, and can control the volume. Not sure why so many people confuse that lame iTunes remote with the ATV Remote. Must not have 4th or 5th gen ATV.

It does the same thing. I've never had a problem with the functionality of it.
Use your TV remote if you need to change the volume, as everyone else does...

It took us 50 years to get a "space program", don't expect to be at the front of the cue of any other technical innovation. Just be happy with the 55th fastest internet on the planet!
Haha, but it's already "innovated". Apple just needs to make an application for it seems like

Apple must have been working hard to get this approved in all these countries. I honestly thought it would take years to get approved in the UK.
Yep it was a nice surprise particularly as we are still waiting for some functionality that our friends across the pond already have such Alex supporting Apple Music

Oh yes. I was thinking about that yesterday. Still no sign of it.

It wasn’t a nice surprise on my purse as It gave me a reason to upgrade from My series 3. Picked one up this afternoon. I’ll go home and set it up and then try out the ECG function. I have tachycardia so I really want to have an ECG done. Obviously the GP won’t send me for one just because my pulse is high.

Deleting imessages has always worked across devices for a long time now. its non-imessages that has been the issue

True but not on Watch . Before yesterday they deleted on MBA,iPhone & iPad and had to be deleted one by one on Watch . This morning when I went to delete my old messages (I never keep any or do a screenshot of important ones) , I saw that this mornings had been deleted but not the ones before that .

It actually doesn't do the same thing. No Siri is a pretty big deal. It is one of the main features of the ATV. Also, being able to control the volume from another room...really cool...and, possible with the ATV remote. Also...just because your satisfied with the basics, doesn't mean I have to be.
I simply made a comment about the ATV remote not being available for the Watch. It is a factual statement.

No not true.

Then how am I controlling my Apple TV with my watch app? This fact is all that matters to some of us I guess. Volume is the only thing missing but if that is a deal breaker to you I get it. For some us these facts are good enough to work with.

Ummmm...and Siri. Wow!

Does anyone know how the country is validated for operation? I bought mine from Spain which is in the list but I live in Cyprus which is not in the list.

I've updated both iPhone and watch but it shows no ECG app. I've bought the watch in Bangkok, can it be the reason even if I live in Denmark?

ECG support-list doesn't mention any European country

How do you think I feel ... I'm just north of USA border and yet Canadians STILL get no official support! This lacking of support is REALLY stupid and I'm thinking despite Apple's great success this S4 model delayed my purchase.

S2 was late but I bought it and sold it.
S3 bought in 30 days of launch ... kept for almost a year sold it.
Waiting on S4 and now considering waitign for S5.

Just FYI -- if you would like to supplement your ECG readings with a lead II trace, just wear your watch on your ankle...

Doing update now. Done . ECG works. Location is irrelevant.

Discrimination of Canadian Apple Watch 4’s was based on some “Canadian” serial number type thing, not your iTunes region, not your location gps either.
Was ECG working before upgrading.....still working well?
