Didn't expect ECG to come to my country so soon! I downloaded the update but I have to wait till tonight to install as I need the charger. I wondered why they didn't release it on Monday together with iOS 12.2

Well this was unexpected. Everything Apple released before and after the show event, is much more interesting than the event announcements :D

My Account and Watch are registered in the UK but the ECG check is checking my physical location which is currently not the UK an not yet approved, so I can't register, does this mean someone who wants it to work only has to travel to a country where it's approved and register? Seems odd, the app store works on where your account is registered, disappointing but a 'First World Problem' i'll just have to live with for a few days.

Only 3 month to launch in Europe after the US release - I hope the same will apply for the Apple Credit Card... :)

Yea the event was very boring but this is just great. Wonder why they didn’t at least mention it...

Your serial number needs to be from a supported country and than you need to be in a supported country to set it up (on boarding).

Haven’t got a clue if Apple has applied with the Therapeutic Goods Association (aka TGA)-Australia’s answer to the FDA to have the ECG functionality approved for use in Australia on Apple Watch series 4 yet.

Once it’s all approved and listed by the TGA in the ARTG (Australian Register Of Therapeutic Gooda), Apple would enable it for here in Australia in a iOS update, just like 12.2 has done for certain Europe countries & Hong Kong).

You need to go into the Heart setting in the Watch App on your phone, then go through both the setups for ECG and Heart Rate Notifications. It should then work.

I had done all that but still the ECG app on the watch was greyed out and inactive. In any case, later when I checked again it worked. Not really sure what happened but it’s now functional. Thank you for your reply.

Can you let your friends wear it to check on their ECG or will it then add into your health data etc?

I'd like to be able to test my parents etc but don't want it recorded permanently. Is there somehow an ECG app to just do the test? I'm in UK

Thanks

It'll get added to your health data but recordings can be deleted easily. You can even share the pdf with your friends/parents before you do so

Just hit the share icon top right after your reading or click 'export a PDF for your doctor' to preview the pdf. Only issue I foresee is that the pdf will display your name and DOB irrespective of who's reading it actually is

How can you delete a recording ? My husband wants to try it.

Nevemind , I found how ! I just didn’t scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Yeah, it's not updated yet. Should be soon, though. List: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.

I can seem to find my ECG app on my watch. I’m running 5.2 beta and iOS 12.3 beta on watch series 4 and iPhone X. Could it be cos I’m on the beta version hence that it doesn’t seem to show the ECG app on the watch?

I’d aldo like to know what those in the beta are meant to do :)
I have told you have to remove all the beta profile and back to the public version for the ECG app to show up as on app on your watch or get it to work. ECG doesn’t work well on the iOS beta for both the watch the iPhone. To make it worse, you can’t go back to the beta again after removing the beta. If you do ECG fails to work again.

Nothing to do with ECG but WatchOS 5.2 & iOS 12.2 finally allow iMessage to be deleted on watch at the same time as on devices !!! :D:)

Yes, you can, but yes, it will be stored in your health app. You can delete it later, if you want, though..

Health Canada says they still have not received an application from Apple.
It’s weird why they Apple haven’t applied in more countries I don’t understand why

Will we ever be able to control the TV with Siri, using the Watch? No ATV Remote app?
There’s always been a remote app on the watch. It works perfectly well for me controlling my Apple TV?
