Sometimes I feel like the only person that could care less about all these new camera features. I remember when the camera was 2 pixels and an afterthought after all the other functions of the phone. Not that we should go back there, but I hate for it to constantly be the biggest improvement area year to year.

The hardware may handle it, but it will process much slower and the results won't look as good as the iPhone 11. Apple doesn't want people with the older generation to get inconsistent results, so they will just release it to the newest ones.

Also, money.

Much slower? 11 Pro CPU is some 20% faster than the A12. This is not much slower.
Apple doesn't want to give those features to older phones in order to sell the latest models.

XS has a cheap autofocus system not the 100% focus pixels Deep Fusion needs

Last year's top phone has a cheap autofocus system... Okkkk?!!!

Why won't they activate this for xs max? The hardware can't handle it?
Typical Apple!

It’s probably because the iPhone XS is noisy as ****. I remember shooting RAW on it, and it was always noisy in medium to low light. That’s probably why regular photos look so splotchy, water colored, and less detailed, it was the iPhone XS’s aggressive noise reduction doing work on the incredible amount of noise.

Can they work on making iOS 13 stable first so we can download it without worrying about Mail, battery life, and other crap being messed up?

I assume this is only for the iPhone 11 and totally unavailable on X?

You haven't even seen it in action yet and you already wish it could be turned off?

Apple has a track record of making things so "friendly" that they have become big brother. For example, some of the issues with photos and iTunes music which you have to actively work around.

Deep Fusion, Dark Fusion, Dark Mode... Terrible, just terrible. Next time someone should proofread the text before publishing it.

It has nothing to do with the CPU speed. Images are processed by the ISP then fed to GPU, CPU and ML. The A12 has a completely different ISP than the A13. The A13 also has the ML coordinator block as well as each large core has an additional matrix math (AMX) block. Combined the AMX blocks do 1 trillion calculations.

I wish it could be turned off so someone would post a with and a without photo. For all we know this update simply adds sweaters to everyone in the frame.

Take some pictures of some things now, and then apply the update, take very similar pictures and look for how Deep Fusion works/changes things.

Simple!

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Apple has removed the iOS betas from their developer site? Could it be that they will be releasing a new configuration profile for iOS 13.2?

I was wondering who the person in the pic was - trying to figure out if he's some guy at Apple responsible for releasing the next update or something!

I would think you are correct on that, since this update will only apply to the iPhone 11 Pro's.

I don't think the iPhone 11 gets Deep Fusion, but I could be wrong on that.

Don’t make that mistake. I got pummeled for thinking the same thing.
