More left wing companies removing freedom of speech
[doublepost=1533553428][/doublepost]Im sorry but now days hate speech is speaking out againt the main stream media, right wing youtubers dont always say hate they just speak the truth but are silenced by the left

Not nice, Apple, not nice .. As far as I know hate speech, as long as you don't call for violence, is protected speech just like any other kind of speech in U.S. Snowflake virus is infecting this planet fast.

Still it doesn't make it ok. Everybody can decide for themselves.

That's what they said about round-earthers. You know, those nutcases who actually thought the world wasn't flat, in complete defiance of all common decency. Glad those people were silenced.

The world needs speech it isn't used to hearing in order to think. Is he mostly nuts? Sure, but he deserves to speak as much as anyone else does.

Did cops get him for speaking in public space? No, he was using a private property and as such he's subject to the owner's rules.

Let's say you're throwing a party at your home. What would you do if a guest starts doing something you don't like, for example, insulting or making the other guests feel uncomfortable. Would you kick him out? That's what Apple did.

Back to the article, this guy does deserve to speak his mind, but that doesn't mean he can do it at everyone else's properties.

As a private company it’s completely up to Apple what is hosted on its OWN platforms. Understandably it doesn’t want to be associated with this level of hatred, lies, conspiracy, fuelling racists and fascists. It may take some heat now, but when people look back in 50-100 years time (as we do now with certain other historical events) and ask what the hell was going on, Apple won’t want to be remembered as the platform on which these people spread their hate.

I suspect we may not agree on everything politically, but how refreshing it is to have cordial dialog. I am certainly guilty of typing something and then later realizing "damn, that was just inflammatory and not well thought out..." I think I have become very sensative to the political tension due to my 2 young daughters (4 and 1). I just get the sense that intolerance is becoming widely accepted that's disconcerting. I actually finally decided to go into medicine because I prefer to see the better side of humanity and realize our political differences, while can cause much consternation, don't matter in the grand scheme. We have got to figure out a way to coexist and I think getting back to basics with recognizing humanity must come first. I'll still be of the belief that limited government, low taxes, more individual rights, and less interference are the best ways to go about governing people. ;)

We probably don't share the same views...we're probably just on different floors of the same building -- hence the different views - and that's cool.
But I bet we agree that patients are the enemy of the weekend and good times lol

I couldn't agree more that humanity comes first. That we all share the same struggles and hopes.
I believe in higher taxes for the wealthy - I didn't get here on my own or pull myself up from my boot straps. The janitor who cleaned the library where i studied has a hand in my education. Same with the people in the cafeteria who made my meals. But that doesn't mean I can't understand why someone would want less taxes because they feel an honest days earning should go to the person who works the hardest not to those who don't work.

In the 70's and 80's we had strong social safety nets for those who have stumbled on hard times - those days are gone - and the reasons are numerous. From misuse to fraud. But I believe in the need for those safety nets for those who may need them to give their daughters/sons a warm meal while they find another job - not to live off of year after year.

I believe in government regulation, because I understand the nature of man, and business. If left unchecked, people would sell sugar pills and claim it cures cancer. Those days were not far off - check out "The Bleeding Edge" on Netflix.

It's very apparent that the balance point is in the middle - and thats where people should meet - but we need to at some point be truthful and recognize that sometimes a compromise leads to a very poor decision. And this I believe is where the tension arises. Each side feels their decision is right one.

Nice quip, but my reply was responding to this:

“To be fair, if you spend your days watching Fox News and reading right wing websites you could easily be fooled into thinking the left is just as dishonest as the right.”

Equally anecdotal.
Sure. But I asked you to support your claim of equivalence. You keep repeating it without evidence.

Here we are with false equivalency again. And a sprinkle of whataboutism.

The equivalency is not ipso facto false just because you proclaim it to be such.

No different than your unsubstantiated repetition that the right is somehow worse.

Don't watch FOX News at all. I don't even know if we get it in Canada.

CNN speaks for itself. It is absolutely on the level on MSNBC and in many ways is much worse.

I’d argue CNN and Fox News in a way are in the same boat. Both claim to be independent, fair and balanced news. Of course, both are for the most part biased in their reporting.

At least MSNBC is upfront with admitting they are a biased news source (in this case progressive). CNN isn’t ideologically much different, they just pretend to be unbiased.

I think we actually probably agree a lot more than we realize. Look at the healthcare system prior to the 80s and 90s and now. We entrust those with typically no innate experience with patient care to dictate patient care (healthcare administrators) and insurance companies. They've lobbied with those with no innate experience with average Americans (our politicians who are essentially all wealthy) and look at the state healthcare is in. We wonder why patient care suffered while healthcare costs sore, and only getting worse.

I've strayed too far off track...

Abolishment of ICE, political correctness somehow a good thing, strength through appeasement, taxing to prosperity, welfare given with little prerequisite and without random drug tests and forced community service, allowance of the false "white guilt" narrative, affirmative action, sanctuary cities. Shall I go on?

You mean listing every right wing trope possible?

We would have to first agree that your proclamations constitute anything approximating righteousness.

If Jesus would do it - that would be approaching righteousness from the other side (supreme righteousness). Don't move the goal posts now baby.

I think it's fair to say you don't know of party that approaches that level of righteousness. And that's cool. One day American will get there. It won't happen today, but many tomorrows will pass and one day we will have free healthcare, free education for every citizen, equality for all, regardless of race, creed, or sex, a living wage for everyone, a real immigration process, and all the righteousness you can handle and then more! ;)

No one is stopping Alex Jones from expressing his views. He can stand on a street corner all of today and tell the world what he thinks about anything. He can use his website to say anything he wants.

The thing you seem incapable of understanding is that other businesses, like youtube, or Apple, do not have to help him express his views to the public in any way, and today they chose to stop him from using their platforms. It's really not that complicated, and despite your whining, his free speech is 100% intact.

I am very capable of understanding the First Amendment. In fact, I am certain I am more educated than you on the issue. I will stake my law degree and law licenses in two states.

Apple is a book burner. And perhaps YouTube and Facebook. And you clearly support that type of behavior.

Who do you think you're kidding buddy?

God save us from this particular online trope.

"I didn't vote for Trump, but let me repeat every single Trumpian talking point possible, that I absolutely came to believe through research, logic, and pulling my thinking by its bootstraps."

You're lacking a bit in History, then, if you consider this book burning.

I basically listed the platform that the current Democratic Party is running on. No right wing trope. I have equal disdain for the republican party (i.e. Bush was a train wreck and caused us to have 8 years of Obama). But conservative view points are the ones being censored across the board (excluding Alex Jones - I know very few people who actually take the guy serious).

More silliness. I have repeated absolutely zero Trump talking points. In fact, you align with him on at least one issue: censorship. He likes that kind of stuff too.
