It's false advertising anyway since you can only see 4 people at a time plus 32 people would violate the 'two pizza rule' of meetings.

later this year = late december

This headline comes after the Samsung insult about ‘why would I ever video call up to 30 people’ joke in their latest commercials.

Apple doesn’t seem to have enough experienced and highly knowledgeable programmers to have quality control.

Apple.

Come up with an idea.
Code it in a lab
Test test test test more with more participants early.
Test test test again.
Perfected.
Test a thousand times over to try and corrupt or break it.
THEN it is ready for announcement.
Test like crazy again

Then again they probably all did that. Just seems like Apple is over promising and under delivering.

Is this really that difficult of a feature for Apple to incorporate?

Yes, there's only 2 guys who code at Apple Inc. All those other employees have to wash & clean the money, regularly moving it around in the vault so it doesn't mold, etc.

I hear there's also an army of employees charged with rescuing the Execs who swim a little too far out into the deepest end and/or OD snorting all the 24K gold dust. ;)

Why? This has become a pattern under Tim Cook of over-announcing and under-delivering.

And in past years we have all complained when they release on schedule with bugs and we need to spend the rest of the year hoping they'll get fixed.

I'm much happier they give us a heads up on what's coming and deliver it once it is completed. Less interested in getting stuff delivered simply because they announced it, but it is so buggy it isn't worth using.

Just ignore the crazy increase in performance in iOS12 and continue to whine...

The "crazy increase" that involves changing the ramp up process of existing hardware when completing a task? Instead of starting low and going high it just starts high. It's initialized faster but the top end is dead nuts the same. Wouldn't call that much of a miracle.

Don't waste your time on logic. Tim Cook Haters will always complain no matter what.

New features and stability are what I’m after. Loading apps ever so slightly faster isn’t gonna do it for me, so yeah I will continue to whine thanks.

Does anyone remember the days when there were no leaks about future products or features and no public previews of upcoming software at all? If they are going to give us a peek inside their development process, then we have to expect things like this. Presumably it is our feedback that has, at least in part, prompted this move, disappointing as it is.

Apple today removed Group FaceTime from the latest iOS 12 and macOS Mojave betas, which were released this morning, and has instead decided to release the feature at a later date.

One of the key features of iOS 12 and macOS Mojave, Group FaceTime is designed to allow up to 32 people to chat together at one time via FaceTime audio or FaceTime video.

The feature has been available in iOS 12 and macOS Mojave since the first betas became available in June, and it's not clear why Apple has decided to push the feature back to a later date. Group FaceTime worked well in our testing, but we also did not push the limits with a large group of people.

In release notes for both macOS Mojave and iOS 12, Apple says the feature has been removed from the initial releases of macOS Mojave and iOS 12 and "will ship in a future software update later this fall."

With the release of iOS 11, Apple also ended up delaying several features that were initially announced as part of the update until later in the year, including Apple Pay Cash, AirPlay 2, and Messages in iCloud, three significant iOS 11 features that did not come out until months after iOS 11 launched.

Apple Pay Cash later launched in December as part of the iOS 11.2 update, while Messages in iCloud and AirPlay 2 were delayed until the launch of iOS 11.4 in May. Apple has said the Group FaceTime feature will come later in the fall, which means it should come in one of the first or second iOS 12 updates.
