As noted on the first, there are some images of the albino iPhone, but only three and no closeups at all.

Still though, is there a way to judge pent up demand for a white iPhone 4? I knew people that really wanted one bad and most bucked up and bought the black one. A few went the Android route to also be queued up for the mythical and soon to appear (?) Verizon iPhone.

Interesting... How hard could it be to make a white iPhone? I'd expect the black one to be the problem child... For some, this will be an epic fail. It does beg the question on whether the all glass iPhone 4 was a good idea, and if this is true, this totally answers that question and leaves a chink in Apple's armor. The first company that can come out with an all white Android will likely rake in a frustrated bunch of new customers.

:confused::confused::confused:
Is color all that important? Yes, the white one could be cool... but really... you can buy cases to make your phone any color. So why would a white phone "rake it in"?

We're spoiled... and honestly, no one's going to give a hoot or remember this other than a few who really wanted the white phone. The average consumer is not even going to notice. A very small ding in their armor.

With the "failing and flawed" iPhone 4 selling as fast as they can make them, the new Verizon phone in early production, and other products like new iPads right around the corner... I'm sure they just figured they had better things to do other than deliver a white phone that obviously had some sort of issue that just did not come up to standards.

I don't think it's good for Apple, in terms of PR. But I don't think it's a total embarrassment. Within 2 -3 weeks of this announcement, it'll be forgotten. They'll continue to sell a ton of black phones, and no one will give a flying F...

My 2 cents....

So how does it feel for all iPhone 4 owners to all have the exact same device with exact same specs?

Apple has become the ultimate "me too" company in our society, and it perfectly represents what progressives represent - Same-ness, no personal choice, and dependency on a single group of elites (in this case Steve Jobs and his crew) to decide what they shall be able to get. It's worked great the last 10 years due to no competition from other companies but like everything else other players eventually catch up and now we have Android out there to choose from, where you actually have choice.

So the company (Apple) that has spent its entire life attacking Microsoft's moves to take over our PCs has done exactly that as it relates to the iPhone and the iPad. The iPhone 4 is AAPL's Windows 95....the crescendo moment for the company at which point it overreaches and kills the brand.

Nail in the coffin?

This is a major embarrassment for Apple.

Let's just get this into perspective people...

Apple have removed a product from the store that they are not selling.

How is that embarrassing or crazy? It's just logical. Why advertise a product you're not due to sell, by your own estimates, until next year?

ok
i am lost
i want to get an iPhone 4 but i dont know, get it now or wait
actually i do want a black iphone but there is a lot of problems with it
i dont know what to do:D
give me an advice, please:(

I like knowing that apps and UI that I have on one iPhone will be available to me when I get the next iPhone. UI features or apps won't break like on Android.
Different isn't always better.
Apple doesn't set out to sell to every user. They put out what they think is best.....it is then up to the consumer to decide.

the HORRORS!!

what shameful tactics by Apple. they might as well stop making anything and hide in a cave!!!!!

//end sarcasm//

seriously it is only a phone color. big deal.
does white mean THAT much??

my first smartphone is the iP4 and I love everything it does. it has better reception than any other phone i have had.

I don't understand why they keep trying to make a white version of the product when history has shown that its technically harder to produce.

Why don't they just introduced 2 or 3 black version of the iPhone instead of wasting time trying to produce the rare white phone.

give me an advice, please:(

1. The antenna issue was a non issue. I had better reception from my iP4 than any other phone. Put a bumper on it and you have less than no problem.

2. The proximity problem was a bit of an annoyance. It has been fixed by a software patch.

From my perspective, there is no problem with the iP4. Your only real question, do you want to get an iP4 now or hold out for an iP5 in July. Either option is good.

I don't understand...they had white ones at WWDC for everyone to play with...this is BS!

What's your point? That if two people buy the same phone they have the same phone????? Since when does an HTC HD7 does not have the same hardware as another HTC HD7? Wow, you're a detective!!

You're really spending your time trolling a mac rumor forum? How does it feel? It feels awesome to have an iPhone.

Today:

we decided a white phone is a bag of hurt and just doesn't make much sense

Steve.

Spring 2011:

We have revolutionized the white phone and made it magical

Steve.

I really don't understand how some here can still praise Apple for this decision. Wait, yes I can, blind fanboys. Sad, I used to be on of those too. Yes, maybe it is a good decision for Apple to have pulled it, and just not try for it anymore, but here are the facts.

It was announced two and a half weeks before its release that it was coming. A week and a half later it wasn't there. In late June we were told late July. In mid to late July we were told still Late July. In late July we were told end of the year. Now, we are told nothing, but can assume it's cancelled.

So, maybe it is a good idea that the white iPhone 4 be cancelled or whatever, but Apple deserves absolutely no praise for doing it now. Two times when they announced it in the past, it was within roughly two weeks of its release date- Apple KNEW it wasn't coming at those points in time, so they lied saying it was.

This whole experience really opened my eyes, I love their products and will still use them, but the people who run the company aren't really worth any kind of praise or gratitude.

The whole iPhone 4 rollout has been an embarrassment; between the lost prototype, the deathgrip antenna issue, and the white iPhone delays.

Perhaps Apple needs a reality check. Time to rewind back to the times of the 3GS. Maybe we don't need a new iPhone every single year?

Well, good for the people that got lucky and got one. My buddy has a white one and at this point it's probably worth 5 times what he paid for it now that white has been postponed (discontinued) before it truly hit the streets.
