Getting banned from a social media platform for inciting violence (which lead to actual deaths) vs. being discriminated against (presumably racial discrimination) on public transport (which is a fantasy situation you came up with that is not actually currently happening).

It's extremely important to control these people's speech. They are under the mistaken impression that they have unlimited free speech.

You do not have a right to unlimited free speech. There are a hundred limits on speech, from copyright to sedition. People need to understand that, and Apple is well within their right to limit speech. Twitter did a great post analyzing his language and his incitement of insurrection, when they banned him.

Yeah if you know the story of how she died it wasn’t like that it was her boyfriend who was a drug dealer and he pulled a gun out and the police fired back and she was hit it was nothing to do with race and she was not asleep stop watching cnn

I own a gun, but saying, in essence, "private companies banning apps is why we need the second amendment" sounds a lot more like a fever-dream of exerting power, violently, in a world that is rejecting your ideas and way of being, than anything like what you're describing. However, I don't tend to feel bringing guns to protests of any type is worthwhile.

It has nothing to do with banning people's speech. These are private companies making decisions. Everyone is entitled to free speech, but not to having no response to that speech. Spew what you want, but you'll have to deal with the fallout of whatever it is you're spewing. If companies don't want to provide a platform for your nonsense, they don't have to. That's how it works.

He wasn't a drug dealer, he was confused with one. The police did a no-knock raid, meaning they didn't announce that they were cops, and the boyfriend thought they were robbers or something. Here in the US, you're generally allowed to defend yourself in your own home.

All this shut down over stopping what happened at the capital but no shut down on Twitter over the hatred of America and the blm riots all summer, is this equal no it isn’t if your gonna ban a platform from stopping riots then ban them all people twitter is a lot worse

Yes. In the 1950s the Australian Labor Party split into two - the ultra-right-wing Democratic Labor Party and the rest. Over the years the DLP has withered away and I think there's only have one member left. The split caused a serious re-think amongst the mainstream ALP, and they were able to come back and form government several times.

I think it is time for the US Republican Party to do the same. Yes, they will be in the wilderness for several terms of government, but the end will be a stronger Republican Party and a stronger US.

In order to have a strong and ethical government, you need a strong and ethical opposition. Neither the US, UK nor Australia fulfill both requirements at the moment.
