I wonder why Apple hasn't been more entrepreneurial with the airpods. Sell different colored cases, different colored airpods. People would buy and mix and match.

To be honest, the whole audio market is just super competitive and I think Airpods are mostly a function of iPhone penetration (sure you don't need iPhone, but I think prob 90% of sales are coming from iPhone users). They had massive growth in sales because it was an easy sell to anyone who owned an iPhone (almost a white space as none of the competitors could match the integration). I think they must've reached saturation and I can see the future volume being 1. Airpods owners that need a new pair (facilitated by the introduction of new models) 2. New iphone users

Maybe if my AirPods Pros didn’t suddenly stop working after less than two years, people would still be supporting the product. What a disappointment.

I love the NC on the AirPods Pro, but I've never found a great fit after trying all the size options -- they've fallen out more than once. I never had that problem with the regular AirPods. So I only wear the Pros when I'm not doing anything too active -- e.g., commuting, at home -- and use the originals everywhere else.

Is this a surprise? AirPods Pro came out 2 years ago, and AirPods (2nd gen) came out before that. Those that wanted AirPods likely have them already, and there are likely many of those people waiting for an upgrade to buy again.

Try Craigslist or eBay..TONS and TONS are available…do watch out for fake or knock-off AirPods, though

i bought some knock offs from ali express for $7 ;)

just as good as the real thing

Yeah, I think the market is kind of saturated, most people have them already. If you don't use Apple, other makers have stepped up. The Galaxy Buds sound good for much lower price.

I have AP and APP, and they are still working, but will probably have to replace them soon because their battery life is starting to be noticeably less. Thanks Apple for making these items disposable :(

Anyone else just not a fan of the ear 'plug' style of the Pro's? I don't understand how people say the regular AirPods don't stay in. I literally run with mine in and don't have to make any adjustments to them.
I got ear aches and exacerbated tinnitus with my regular Air Pods but they fit very well and never fell out. My Air Pods Pro don’t cause me any discomfort but like all my other ear plug style buds, they work their way loose and pop out constantly.

Everyone I've met goes "I want Dem AirPods!!!" then see the price, and end up getting an off brand for $30.

Nothing increases at the same rate forever. The planet doesn't have infinite people.
Of course but things broke down or get replaced by new more performant product

The real problem is that earth doesn't have infinite ressources, but that's another debate

With Augmented Reality Glasses coming the need for in ear head phones will be needed less. Glasses with bone conducting speakers in the frame along with the Augmented Reality video projected in front of your eyes will be the thing.

I walked right into Best Buy and had them no problem

Obviously nobody around here is woke! Today apple releases their earnings after market. I am absolutely positive this story has NOTHING to do with attempts to manipulate stock . Come on peeps do your research these types of stories have been released many times on earnings day and almost never pan out!! Go watch Cramer YouTube video on market manipulation using press release. Yesterday there was a story how iPhone sales were terrible in China. Unless the data is from Apple it is probably BS

I mean, I know a lot of people (myself included) who can't exactly give them a glowing endorsement. I love my AirPods Pro, but I've had to get both sides replaced due to the rattling issue. Most people I know who own them have the same story. So when you tell somebody 'they're nice but fragile', they see €279 and buy Sony.

Nice rumor for the day of Apple's earnings call.

I personally can't stand how in-ear headphones. Aftershokz bone conduction so I can hear everything around me (I'm a runner).

As stated elsewhere, if they were purchased before October 2020, you might be able to get them replaced under the Service Program. My right one started crackling a year ago, 2 months after purchase, and was replaced. The left one started a month ago.

When I went into the store for replacement under the program, a month after warranty expired, the tech or I messed up and initially replaced the right one again. After realizing we swapped the wrong one, I got the left one replaced as well. Now I have a new set of AirPods Pro.

Interestingly, they ran diagnostic on the AirPods and it reported both as bad so it made sense the right one was replaceable. Why they didn't offer up the left one automatically when it also showed bad under the diagnostic is a little sketchy.

I’ve had mine now for just over a year. They are fine but for the money the sound quality should be better. I probably wouldn’t buy another pair tbh.

This makes sense. Love my Jabra 75t Sports. IMO they look, feel and sound better than AirPods in every respect. (But to each their own.)
The Jabra 75t Sports got the "it wasn't even close" WORST rating out of 13 wireless earbuds by the Payette Forward Youtube channel (they buy everything they test so no paid sponsorship). The 3 Beats products got "Dishonorable Mentions." The Airpods were the middle-of-the-road standard. i.e. "meh." Their review is more about sound quality than all the other stuff like ecosystem integration. So it depends upon what you are most interested in. I just want an Apple design that doesn't fall out of my ears. The Airpods Pro were promising, initially, but ultimately, they work their way out after a minute or two. C'mon, Apple! Do it right and give us size options!
