Yes. I strongly believe with vote with your $$$.So you agree with Apple adding ads to their services. Sad
There’s a shop near me, comparable size to others nearby, whose label simply does not appear when I’m browsing the map (scrolling/zooming). I can search for it by name and it gets found, else it’s invisible.Maybe, local small business is possibly going to benefit. When you “google” it, the big names flood the results, but a map is a physical location that might be more difficult to edge out a smaller businesses placement or ads. But time will tell…
I use Apple Maps constantly when traveling local. When taking big trips or overseas, I switch to Google. That said, I have noticed significant room for improvement in Maps. Perhaps they should fix its issues before including ads.I'm pretty sure the number of people who use Apple Maps versus Google Maps or even Waze is very low.
And what premium? iPhones cost the same as similar Samsung phones.
We can tell. Just look at the state of Apple.Steve has been gone for longer than he was CEO of Apple at this point.
When you say we were tricked, please use “I was tricked.” You can buy a degoogled, Linux phone or some other phone. And you’re annoyed people aren’t defecting from Apple. 🤣We all have been tricked into spending over 1000+ on phones and tech/smart things we don't need. A phone with a 40% margin and overpriced storage options comes now with ads. They want to squeeze every penny out of our time. I love tech, but I'm slowly trying to avoid it because they've tricked us into buying their toys, and now that we're trapped, they do what they want. Instead of using the power as consumers and stop buying bs people are instead defending their favorite companies like they're the CEOs.
Stop subscribing and buying "smart" stuff. The ******tification of all things continues!

This. Hardware quality, mostly ad-free products except where they kinda have to (Apple TV+ trailers) and included customer support are reasons I like Apple and don’t mind paying more than other products. One of the main reasons prefering macOS over Windows is NO ADS, no pushy shiny stuff!
If they are forcing this to their users... why pay a premium anymore?
I use both depending.i largely use Waze, I see less reason to switch to Apple Maps
Do you own a flagship smartphone? If so, you've been tricked too, especially if it's a so called "professional" Phone. Enjoy the ads. I'm still using my iPhone 13 and refuse to upgrade until Apple ends software support. When you say we were tricked, please use “I was tricked.” You can buy a degoogled, Linux phone or some other phone. Through Apple marketing when I was younger and more naive. Many people have been tricked and still are. 99% of pro iPhone buyers don’t need it but still buy a new one every year and now with ads.Apple literally sells a phone for $599, almost half the cost of the Pro version.
And how on earth have you been tricked into buying anything?
More ads in iOS means more tracking at this point the fine line that separates iOS from Android is disappearing because of greedApple's plan to bring more ads to iOS is moving "gaining traction," with the Maps app being next in line.

Literal Steve Jobs rolling right now
Jobs envisioned the ad-supported version of Mac OS 9 displaying a 60-second commercial from a "premium" company at startup, with the ads occasionally being automatically swapped out for new ones over the Internet. He also visualized the use of contextually relevant ads, such as an Epson printer ink ad being displayed when the user's printer was reporting that it was low on ink.
I finally trust it enough to drive with it here in Switzerland.. Exactly 10 years after it being released.. Its been pretty useless until now as you noticed... Its half decent and arguably better then google while on CarPlay mode. Waze certainly is better in that it features those radar traps/speedcameras/police we all like to know about... I doubt apple will ever feature that much info in it.. Give it another try for driving directions... The front console dash also works for navigation info (complementing the center console of CarPlay) which Waze doesn't do..I've deleted this app years ago. I doubt they managed to get ahead of GMaps/Waze here in EU.
