I was thinking of both also just now. larger MBA's and larger iPads, is there durability/ruggedness issues? The current 12.9" iPad Pro is .25"/6.4mm how would that fare at a 16" size? Would you be more likely to damage either product compared to the current sizes? Seems both would need to be thicker and heavier. Also larger screen consume more battery, so larger batteries also.So if this is true we would have iPads in sizes from 8.3" to 16" (almost a factor of 2). In the meantime MacBooks available only from 13" to 16".![]()
Then I would buy one in a heartbeat. What if they added MacOS to it, connects to a monitor (you know as per that ancient patent) and then iPad OS was the detached version you took with you
I'm hoping for Logic Pro (lite?)I just wish Native Instruments would follow suit and port Traktor Pro as well instead of some gimped out version that is currently their offering.
Maybe there will be a helium case as an add-on.Interesting. I'd like the increased screen real estate. But how heavy is that going to be if you slap a Magic Keyboard on it?
Hopefully it will remain compatible with the existing ones.I wonder how much the cleaning cloth will be
macOS on an 8.3” screen would be horrible. It was barely worth it on 11” screens. iPadOS scales much better. So if this is true we would have iPads in sizes from 8.3" to 16" (almost a factor of 2). In the meantime MacBooks available only from 13" to 16".![]()
See here: https://www.cultofmac.com/421893/why-the-ipad-has-never-shipped-with-a-calculator-app/I am still confused as to why this calculator app was never a norm from the start in the app list.
Still no. Unless Samsung throws some sort of stand with the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra for free, it's still too wieldy to hold.As someone who upgraded from a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 to a 15" Samsung Galaxy Ultra, I would buy a 16" iPad in a heartbeat.
Seriously, anyone who thinks a 16" tablet is crazy, go to Best Buy and play around with the 15" Ultra. That size is GLORIOUS, to me at least.
It's not the weight per se, but just the sheer size of a tablet that big. I found the 12.9" iPad Pro a tad unwieldy to hold due to the size of the tablet itself. Going to something even bigger like the proposed 16" iPad makes holding it by hand nearly out of the question (in my opinion). I still remember when I picked up the original 12.9" iPad Pro at an Apple Store way back in 2015 and I wasn't comfortable holding it like I do with a smaller iPad.You've picked it up? The 15" Samsung feels lighter than my old, gen 3 iPad...
The 12.9” is 37.5% larger in display area than the 11”, which is almost exactly the price difference. 16” would be about 54% larger in area than 12.9”, which for the price would point to $1699. Area increases quadratically with the diagonal. If the 13" iPad Pro is $300 more than the 11" iPad Pro, then the 16" iPad Pro would be around $300 more than that.
11" 799 USD
13" $1099 USD
16" $1399 USD
Because a 9.7” calculator looks stupidI am still confused as to why this calculator app was never a norm from the start in the app list.
They don’t have to render a simple calculator with giant buttons. There could be graphing and other scientific functions, or even an on-screen “clipboard” with a calculations history. It could be full-featured and intuitive like the iPadOS Weather app. I’m sure Apple, if they ever do bring Calculator to iPad, will go in more of that direction so as to differentiate themselves in meaningful ways from the plethora of third-party options out there.Because a 9.7” calculator looks stupid
I’m thinking it’s not a “mode”, it could just run macOS and apps from outside the Mac App Store. For folks that like the iPad form factor, but want to install stuff from outside the App Store.Lots of envy from Mac entrenched people here. MacOS lite=mode to run MacOS apps?
I disagree. The 12.9” is 37.5% larger in display area than the 11”, which is almost exactly the price difference. 16” would be about 54% larger in area than 12.9”, which for the price would point to $1699. Area increases quadratically with the diagonal.
