Personally, I think it's a dumb idea. Bose appeals to a different market than Beats. I'm a Bose customer, not a Beats customer. That means there are both types of buyers buying Apple. Why remove a product that appeals to one group but not another?

Honestly, it probably doesn't really matter to me much in the long run, since I would probably never buy either brand in an Apple store.

You can still buy Bose hardware pretty much anywhere if that brand appeals more to you and others.
To me Beats is a bit overpriced. Still like more Pioneer for serious headset. Bose audio systems for cars are awesome though.

Regardless of the opinions of others, I don't find Bose stuff that bad. I also have a set of Beats ear buds which sound good to me as well. I'm not an audiophile so I'm okay with them. That being said, I buy Apple stuff at the Apple store, if I want Bose, I wouldn't get it there anyways. Most likely I'd get it online as it would be cheaper. Then again I go to the Apple store so infrequently I'll never notice it anyways.

I own both Beats (iBeats earbuds) and Bose (QC15) and love both, though I just think that Bose is an overall better product. Hopefully Apple steps Beats' game up so they can become more than just a pretty product.

You keep using that word...

Frankly I find what Apple is doing here is anti-competitive.

Not selling products from a competitor in your own stores is hardly anticompetitive. I don't expect to be able to buy a brand new Chevy at a Dodge dealership, nor an iPad at a Microsoft store, nor should I.

Bose is ****. I have a Bose bluetooth speaker and I regret it everyday. I have to re-pair it DAILY. Plus the sound sucks.

Whilst I’d never buy Beats or Bose, this is an embarrassingly anti-consumer, anti-choice move.

Apple is allowed to make choices in which brands they want to represent at their stores. They cannot stock every audio brand available. And I'm not for Bose or Beats, since they are both overpriced, but the Bose and NFL deal fining players like that is what started it. I would remove their products from my shelves too.

both brands are overpriced, but I would much rather buy Bose than Beats.

Frankly I find what Apple is doing here is anti-competitive. but hey, I don't buy accessories from Apple store anyway, so it doesn't bother me.

I'd hope that nobody would buy accessories from the Apple store since you can almost always get them cheaper elsewhere - not sure if removing Bose products would even help Apple unless they're planning make it so you can only buy Beats from Apple.

The average sized Apple Store seems to have less and less stuff in it in general these days.

Can anyone explain to me why it is anticompetitive? Or why they feel that this is another competitive? I don't see Samsung stores carrying Apple products nor Microsoft carrying Apple products. Not being a troll. Just really curious why forum members like to say these things about Apple

They carry other high end audio brands (regardless of bose being overpriced). I cannot imagine they sell a lot of bose products anyways. If they are removing bose, they should just remove all of the others for the reason you said. They are now in the audio business.

I think that it would hinder them by removing Bose. They don't remove other case manufactures or keyboards and so on. II might be Bose pulling stunts with Apple because of litigation with Beats. With Apple always keeping the details to themselves we might never know.

I have many Bose products and none from Beats and likely never will have

You must be a seasoned audiophile!

Anyway, the "anti-competitive" bla bla is funny, considering that Bose is a direct competitor of Apple now, regardless of the (non?)-quality of both brands.

(I don't have any experiences with Beats, different target audience and Bose - the Companion 5 speaker system for my gaming PC makes me happy enough to enjoy it)

Apple has to start making room for Watch displays so maybe they'll get rid of speaker displays all together. Unless we're getting new Beats stuff next week they're making room for that.

People buying Bose and Beats equipment are clueless.

So you are saying that the same people would buy Bose and Beats. In that case, it's obvious Apple should remove Bose, because people buying Beats is profit for Apple, people buying Bose isn't.

That would open up space for good equipment that is bought for producing good sound and not for being fashionable, which would benefit everyone.

This is all about catty vindictiveness by Tim Cook's Apple. They're not removing ALL competitor headphones and speakers from Apple stores, just Bose. Gee, wonder why....maybe the licensing deal with the NFL?

Well guess what, Tim. That's how merchandise sponsorship works in the world of sports. It happens all the time. Shoes, kits, hats, beverages, etc. Exclusivity is a part of the deal. Maybe when you've settled down from your jealous rage, you'll understand that.

Not really. Apple doesn't sell pc running windows in there stores and MicroSoft doesn't sell Apple products in thier stores.

I'll have to check if they are selling Windows in the Apple Stores, for people using Bootcamp.

Something tells me:

1. $10k is weekly walking around money for Colin
2. I'm pretty sure Beats/Apple will reimburse all their stars for these kinds of fines
3. The fines only serve to create more advertising for the product ( think about all the news stories written about this incident.)

You are right, after all it's free publicity...
