1. It's not an elitist to want good sound quality when we listen to music. Some of us enjoy great sounding music recordings as good as they were SUPPOSED to sound. If the equipment doesn't do it's job, it alters the sound quality and makes your investment in your music catalog to not sound enjoyable. Have you even heard your music catalog with a great sounding system compared to what you currently use? Have you ever listened to $1500 headphones running through a really nice headphone amp/DAC? Some of us have various hobbys or occupations where listening to music is a main focus. Just like some like to drive nice cars, others like boating, etc. It's not being an elitist as much as it is for someone to be kind of ignorant or not concerned about good sounding audio gear. Everyone has their own passions and things that gets them excited about something other than wasting money on tattoos or getting drunk or whatever other hobby someone has. I would rather spend money on audio equipment whereas someone would rather drink that same amount of money.
2. Yes, I've been a musician since I began studying music since 1969 and I've been around various musicians and musical instruments in live performances and recording studios. FYI, have you ever been to a concert hall listening to an orchestra in a great concert hall that didn't need a PA system? To get a system to reproduce that same experience is VERY difficult, but that's what some of us want to experience in our own home.
3. That's great that you like bass, but try this simple and FREE experience. Take your favorite music and your Beats headphones to a local audio dealer that has a pair of HD800's, Audeze, Stax or high end Grado headphones and do a comparison test. See for yourself if you like these others better. Bass is a funny thing. The average person that listens to music on average systems/headphones aren't really listening to accurate bass. What happens is you THINK it's great, but it's not that accurate and it ends up not being natural sounding because it's just not created properly. Most people start out being what audiophiles refer to as BOOM and SIZZLE. That's low fi. High end is not BOOM and SIZZLE, it's more natural and REAL. You'll experience and hear things in your catalog of music on a whole other level and you'll be surprised at how much of the music you don't hear with those headphones. But you have to experience it yourself. Words can't describe the feeling.
4. Bose, same thing. You aren't hearing your catalog of music compared to what it would sound like going through a high end DAC and a good audio system. It's a whole other experience. You are driving a simulated Ferrari on your computer vs going out and actually driving a REAL Ferrari.
Now, you don't have to spend tons of money on a system to get good audio. I know that maybe you can't afford a decent system, but it's possible to get a great system that you'll enjoy a LOT more. How much do you have invested in your music catalog? I'm assuming you actually pay for your content vs stealing it. I have about $20K in my music collection that I've collected over the last few decades, so I've spent more in my catalog of music than the equipment I play it on. I also spend up to about 8 hours in a day listening to music depending on my mood as I like playing music during the day when I'm on my computer doing other things.
5. McDonalds isn't real Beef. It's fake. It's got too much artificial crap in it. Obviously, it's just more convent and a little less money, but it's not made by chefs, it's not high quality beef, but if you want to put crap food in your body or don't mind being brainwashed by a food chain, then maybe you are just gullible to mass marketing.
6. Whether or not I get laid has nothing to do with discussing this subject matter. You seem to be the one that doesn't get it. Maybe you need to listen to better audio equipment but are afraid to. You are wallowing in ignorance. if you can't afford anything more than what you have, then that's a reason not to buy it, but at least listen to better equipment to at least get a real experience in knowing what good audio sounds like. That's free, it doesn't cost anything except for some driving time and spending a couple of hours listening to various music. Why can't you just accept the fact that it just might change your stance on what good audio sounds like? Afraid? Sounds like you just like mediocre. Sounds like your like being part of the masses of those living in a world of mediocrity or maybe you'd rather blow most of your money on booze or drugs.
