As far as I know, the only accessories on the iPad that use the POGO to transfer data, are keyboards, which can easily be done with Bluetooth. And with an iPhone everything can easily transfer wirelessly with WiFi. And if you need to transfer huge files, then just plug in the USB C, that is mandated by the EU(there will never be a new charging/data port/alternative invented while that law exists)On the Mac it doesn’t transfer data though. Maybe Apple to looking to expand and make it versatile.

This is the reference I came back here for.I couldn’t have said it better. Or maybe I am simply too kind around here.

Same with the other thread on the Vision Pro possibly being discontinued.
Where do you carry your iPhone when going commando?Cases can be a good solution for this, but not for those who go commando.
So many good response options — so few won't get me a 3 day ban 😀Where do you carry your iPhone when going commando?
I know only one person who does use it. Personally I haven't ever, so far. It never seemed like a good idea to me, more like a fad like 3D movies, unless and until they also remove the charging port for weatherproofing purposes, and can surpass USBC charging speeds, neither of which I see happening.I agree. If I don't use it, there's no use for it.
Just remember it still buzzes in silent mode
I know. Call me again. Please.Just remember it still buzzes in silent mode
kW/h is not energy, but the rate of change of power, which itself is the rate of change of energy. I guess you meant kWh.How much energy is being lost per phone due to wireless charging? 0.005 kW/h? More? Less?
No.If we assume that 20% of MagSafe-capable iPhones are charged wirelessly once a day, and the loss is a more moderate 25%, you deduct the 10% wired charging loss, meaning a 15% extra loss for wireless charging, you'd lose around 200 TWh a year. You need 8.3 Chernobyls to produce that much electricity. Only the loss compared to wired charging. For fifth of the iPhones. Almost 42 Chernobyls if all of the iPhones were charged wirelessly. That means 168 RBMK-1000 reactors.
But that isn’t data, we were discussing using the POGO pins for data transfer. On the keyboard you can charge via the USB-C port.
How many of you are really sitting there, thinking, man I really wish I could use some of this precious iPhone battery to charge something else. At a much lower efficiency, like lose 30% of my battery to give 15% of it to another device?
AirPods are the only product that makes sense for that. And it would be cool if apple added reverse changing. But a lot of comments were saying they would get rid of MagSafe, and replace it with reverse charging. Not saying it makes sense, but I can see someone wanting to top off AirPods from anything with more power. They could of course keep a short cable for that, and have much greater efficiency.
