iPhone sales unexpectedly up more than anticipated. However, services a lil soft. Still, I am "THRILLED"! Just bought more AAPL on the dip yesterday and already up on that. Can't wait to see what it does tomorrow since after hours looks so good.
Services are soft?

$12.85 billion this year vs $10.87 billion last year. That's a healthy increase.

It's interesting that iPad and Mac revenue have just about reached parity given that they kept wanting to push the iPad as a laptop replacement for years.

I'm actually surprised that services isn't more of the revenue share.

Well I don’t get it. All I read on MR is that Apple has lost its way, that Tim Cook sucks, and Apple is doomed.

I'm not one of the doom-and-gloomers but have been frustrated with some, but not all, choices by Apple under Cook. Just because a corporation is highly profitable doesn't mean a great many customers are not overjoyed with their experience. An extreme example, but are we supposed to applaud "big pharma" and "big oil" simply because they make a buttload of money?

Same people that claim Apple is doomed whenever iPhone sales are slightly down? What do they want?
They always find something to complain about. Now the stock is doing too well and Apple’s multiple is too high for just a hardware company.

When you stroll into a thread like this you are going to find many people that have personally invested their own money in Apple. Hence we are happy. If you would like to get a fresh perspective buy some shares and join the fun.

People buy life-saving drugs, often at a heinous markup, because they have little choice in the matter. The pharmaceutical companies charge the prices they do because they know they will get away with it.

Apple is a consumer electronics company. No one is holding a gun to my head and forcing me to buy the Apple Watch or AirPods. Nor will I die if I don’t use an iPhone. I do so because they legitimately offer me a superior user experience over the other alternatives on the market (based on my own definition thereof).

It thus stands to reason that Apple is seeing the quarterly results they are because they continue to make great products which people are willing to pay for. For instance, AirPods continue to be out of stock in some stores. Yes, maybe you don’t agree with everything they have done, and that still won’t change the fact that their decisions are largely resonating with consumers.

Just look at how their wearables revenue has now exceeded that of the Mac, and you understand why Apple is going down the route they have. One is an emerging market with a huge untapped user base, while the other is pretty much done in terms of growth. If you want the next billion users, it’s going to come from wearables, not Macs.

Onwards, Apple. To the next billion users and beyond.

When Luca discussed services he didn’t mention Apple Arcade, Apple TV+ or Apple News+. Interesting.

Are the android users starting to realize a walled garden (keeping out filth, maintaining privacy) and a well integrated eco-system is not a bad thing?

So who are these members who say Apple is doomed? Every time revenue numbers are shared, we get the same sarcastic posts Apple is doomed. I’ve yet to find anyone seriously post on here that Apple is doomed.

Not really. This really is fantastic news for stock investors alike. I love being richer of course. However, I know plenty of Android folks that literally dont care about Apple earnings. They are satisfied with their Android devices just like how people in this forum (and in this thread) are satisfied enough with their Apple products.

But I thought that, according to so many members of this site in their infinite wisdom, that Apple sucked now and Tim was running the company into the ground? 🤔

I expect a plurality, if not majority, of those people still think the only product Apple should be focusing on is the Mac.

Wearables surpassed the Mac.

Mac still has it on iPad though so people still like those "trucks".

Maybe if they lowered Mac prices and kept them up to date they would be able to sell a few more units. It really makes me wonder how long they will continue to keep the Mac around.

The Mac continues to make enough annual revenue to be listed in the Fortune 500 if it was an independent company so even if it represents under 10% of Apple's quarterly and annual revenues, it's still a product line worth investing in and supporting by Apple.
