Apple pretty much prints money these days. It’s mindboggling this company was on the brink of bankruptcy over 20 years ago. I think if the US were the overhaul their currencies, Jobs should replace Benjamin Franklin on the 100, Harriet Tubman on 20, Martin Luther King on the 10.
I disagree they should put Tim Cook on there since he is responsible for most of the growth in the last decade and bringing the company to over $1 trillion. Love it when people keep invoking Steve Jobs who passed away a long time ago now

9% versus 15% earlier? Even that is stabilizing. Everyone knows this. We've moved on. The growth in other areas more than made up for it, making it a record revenue quarter.

The reasons people like you haven't made money in Apple is because you're stuck in the past. Everyone knows iPhone sales have plateaued. The services growth of 18%, wearables of 51%, and iPad of 17% are taking the company forward.

But keep digging in your heels about iPhone...you're focused on the wrong thing in an attempt to be right.

iPad growth of 17% more than made up for it. iPad is taking over Mac. $349M decline in Mac, increase of $673M in iPad. I'll take it and so will Apple.

Both models of Mac were updated last year, tough compare. Overall, Mac sales were up annually. You mad?

Not too mention they have one of the brightest CEO alive. Cook has done a tremendous job steering the ship through the trade war. He even works with Trump when needed. He truly does anything needed to make the company successful.

The Mac Sales will grow one the new Mac Pro tower comes out and people start replacing old machines. Think Apple is looking at growing any market segment they can. And a new Macbook Pro with a new keyboard will help. FYI Corvette Sales are only 11 percent of GM over all sales :)

No it won't.

Apple crushes it once again.

Yet for some reason this is going to make a lot of people angry even though it has no bearing on their life whatsoever.

Yet it does, even if you don't own any Apple products, Apple products are expensive, the more people buy those expensive products the more it has bearing on people, the money to buy those products have to be made by working, people ask for raises, life gets more expensive for all people.

Quite *amazing that for each living human on this planet about $40 is spend on Apple gear annually.

*Madness if you ask me.

I own plenty of Apple stuff, mostly computers and an iPhone, I prefer the old days, just my opinion/taste.

Hold my beer while I assess the snappiness of Safari
Nah, the elephant in the room is Samsung expecting to have a drop in profit of 56% for this same quarter.

Yet people will still pretend Apple is failing and Samsung is wildly successful.

I'm referring to people who don't own Apple products, don't develop for Apple, don't make accessories for Apple and don't own any Apple shares.

Yet they'll still be upset over this and will try any angle they can to make this appear like a bad result for Apple.

Best executing company??
Especially when talking about the Macbook line up... One of the worse products ever designed by Apple.
FYI Apple missed once again in the Mac Sales numbers. I wonder why...

Apple will most likely be the first company to make it to a $2 trillion market cap. They could do this even if they completely moth ball the Mac. The company was renamed Apple Inc. instead of Apple Computer the writing is on the wall for the Mac.

^^^^^^This.

I don't consider myself to be an Apple Fanboy. I own tech products from multiple companies. I criticize Apple when I think it deserves to be criticized. I hate the outrageous prices Apple charges for its products. But you just can't argue with the success Tim Cook shows year over year.

iPads are not different from Macs and iPhones. iPad sales dropped (fairly drastically) before and they will do it again (probably soon).

What the industry growth for the same period?
“ After two quarters of DECLINE, the worldwide PC market grew 1.5% in the second quarter of 2019, according to preliminary results by Gartner, Inc. Shipments totaled 63 million units in the second quarter of 2019, up from 62 million units in the second quarter of 2018.

“Worldwide PC shipments growth was driven by demand from the Windows 10 refresh in the business market in the second quarter of 2019. Desktop PC growth was strong, which offset a decline in mobile PC shipments,” said Mikako Kitagawa, senior principal analyst at Gartner.

What did Tim say to that reporter that asked "Tim what do you have to say about the alleged buggy release of Mac OS Catalina that many forum members on Macrumors.com are complaining about?"

No way. Ben Franklin was the greatest President ever. I'd put Tom Brady on the 20 and Jim Brown on the 10 to honor the greatest qb and rb in this country's history.

Can Tim just do a "And One More Thing" 16inch MacBook Pros available for pre-order on November 1st. Ships November 15th... Please and thanks. Hehe

The stock will continue to rise as it always does (happening right now) Just wait until they use all this record breaking revenue and build up content for Apple TV + So add a Netflix type valuation on top of anything else and you can see a valuation of $500 in the next few years.

This is before Apple turns it's attention on to other things like the health care sector. There is a butt load of money to be made just in those tile tracker things. Let's speak again after the holiday quarter is reported and all those new AirPods go into stockings.

And even after all of that Apple is just getting warmed up. They have many successes now already developed and can move on to the next big thing.

How is having less disposable income "no bearing on your life" after you needlessly overpay for an Apple device?
This is a zero sums game. This money wasn't printed out of thin air, it did actually come out of your pocket.

Luckily we live in a world where it isn't compulsory to buy Apple products. Apple has no monopoly on anything and you can choose what you want. By your definition every company operates a "zero sum" game.

Your argument makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I wonder how the haters will spin this.

Corporations bad corporations make money.

So, if Steve Jobs company NEXT was not purchased in 1996, returning Jobs to the company, to weed out crappy people that were working there, discover the actual talent (Ive), rejuvenate it with vision, clarity and products like the iMac G3, hire Tim Cook in 1998 (away from Compaq), enter new markets such as the iPod, iPhone, switch from Intel; you still think Apple would be around today?

Sorry, but you are clearly out of your league on this topic - post Apple Watch generation I guess.

Their profits would be up even more if I hadn't returned the 2019 13 inch due to it being the most unpleasant laptop I've ever had the misfortune to buy. As a 'hater' I have an iphone 8, ipad pro 12.9 (2018) and 2019 top spec imac.

That laptop was such a bad experience that I'm now making sure that any software I use from this moment forward will be Windows compatible. The 'electric jizz' I received whenever it was plugged in - due to the penny pinching lack of a proper power cable, was ridiculous, as was the heat generated from the keyboard. It felt like a cheap knockoff of a Mac product. It may be the lowest spec machine on their range, albeit I had to wait two weeks for a basic useable spec of 16gb ram / 512gb drive, but I sure didn't expect it to be so flimsy and nasty in build quality. My previous Macbook Pro was a similarly specced bottom of the line number, and it was a tank and my favorite Apple product, used happily for years.

But hey norbin, haters just gonna hate. Who the hell lets these apologist morons on this site. One more reason to say bye to Apple and bye to these folks who have no history or experience with the great products Apple used to make.
