Yes, very impressive but do any of you realise that this is the result of all of us agreeing to pay 'Apple tax'? What is Apple going to do with $51 billion in cash? Lowering prices? No. When will it be enough? $75 billion? $100 billion? When?

LOL! You should move here to the US and become a citizen. Your ability to equate paying for quality to a tax would assure that you'd fit right in here.

They should seriously consider purchasing something huge with all of that cash they have laying around. A merger of Dropbox and MobileMe would be nice.

You're thinking too small.

nVidia.

Although they'll probably wait to see how Project Denver turns out first.

You fail economics.

Apple should buy:

Greatest Story in us business history, surely? I wonder where they'll be in 20-30 years time though! IBM or Dell?

read these numbers

GUYS
1) 90million iPhone's goal surpassed.
2) 373k iOS device sold PER DAY => 16.240M iPhone, 7.33M iPad, and 10M iPod touch --> they said 19.45 million iPods. iPod touch sales grew 27% year-over-year. Now over 50% of iPod sales. Android is, for now, at 300k per day.

Apple already has more than 60 Billion in cash. These are the results ending in Dec 31, 2010... We are already into mid January... Apple might have already passed that line a few days ago.

Apple made $5.7B profit in the whole of 2009, they've just beaten that in a single quarter. That is an incredible rate of growth.

Imagine when Verizon (the largest carrier in the U.S.) starts selling the iPhone.

I for one will be glad to hear a little less bluster from the Android army.

Geez 3 pages of comments and I haven't seen a post by "Cvaldes" stating he's a shareholder.

Surprised...

G. Adobe

And no, this has nothing to do with killing Flash. This is more about the fact that Adobe has a ton of talent in their ranks and for the last few years have been going nowhere. It would be great to see a company with Adobe's assets get the kind of leadership and focus they deserve and go back to doing the mind-blowing work they used to do. I honestly can't remember the last update to any of their core creative products (CS stuff mainly) that really made me sit back and say wow.

They should buy ARM or Imagination Tech before someone does what Intel did to one of their suppliers if chips or IP. On a whole new note, maybe buying out Nintendo and kicking Sony and Microsoft hard.

IN A RECESSION!!!!!!!!! they did this IN A RECESSION!!!!! *turns and looks at wife's new macbook and ipad on the livingroom sofa.....* whose condo did i help buy.....

congratulations apple!

unfortunately i am convinced that all this money is generated by putting a very overpriced price tag on most of their products.

mac mini, ipad and many other products are simply EXPENSIVE.
