another troll crawls out...

*ahem* A drone (since iPods take a majority of the market) walks in, asks for a MP3 player, gets directed to the iPod display case first, gets the "privilege" of downloading the bloated, memory-hogging iTunes and now has the option to be suckered into paying for movies, TV shows, apps to one company directly, and oh, yeah... in a month, "can you find a fix because my Snow Leopard has totally deleted my hard drive?".

You know what I like about these discussions? Following the cranky ones back to the other posts they make, and gauging whether they are "real", or just malcontented whiners who endlessly beat the same tune. I call troll and shill number two here...

yip thats what I saw:D:D:D
the rumors are true:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Huh. I wonder what that could be? ;)

"The new products we are planning to release this year are very strong, starting this week with a major new product that we're really excited about."

proof.

Now what could this new product that steve mentioned be?

With everything that has been coming out, it has been way past speculation for quite a while now!

If Apple didn't show one this week WOW they would take a HUGE hit lol! The expectations are high. Hopefully we are pleased with what they show. I am excited! :D Wish I could be there!!! :(

I'm with you there.

But I don't see the reason why if you like Apple stuff, some people deem you as some kind a traitor if you don't also hate Windows stuff.

You can thank apple marketing execs for that (apple vs mac commercials)

multiple victims such as LTD have been brainwashed

I use OS X, Windows, and *nix everyday. Each can have its advantages, depending upon what you're attempting to do. During 30 years of working with personal computers I've never had any desire to limit myself to just one option. I've seen OSs come and go and I look forward to using/learning ones yet to come...

That's pretty much where I stand.

I've gotten the iPhone SDK and ordered a ton of books from the library. It might make me some money. Some users were quite shocked to hear about that. Then again the iPhone itself offers very little utility besides being able to developer for it.

With the amount of Apple gear you're sporting??

LOL.

ya, but I don't think I'm the one who responds to any logical posts with a "I'm an apple fanboy who's too blind to see anything else" comment..

and ps. I haven't paid 1 cent for any of my apple products, they're too over priced for what you get, but if it's free, why not?

Everything that's not VMS sucks.

I personally hate having to use a windows machine, but I also can recognise that Microsoft are hugely successful company, without which we probably wouldn't even have Apple.

You can hate on windows, but I think you have to respect Microsoft as a whole.

Stock owners must be so happy about the huge dividends that Apple will certainly announce due to their surplus of cash......

There is such a category as "growth stocks." Let's see here Apple is up 100% in a year, but no, I'd rather have had no stock price appreciation like MSFT and instead get that juicy .13/share dividend.

"Anything else"?

Like what?

Zunes?
Generic PCs running Windows?
Windows Mobile? (LOL)
A particular version of Android? (The *almost* iPhone)
Netbooks? (LOL)
Ubuntu on netbooks/notebooks (not bad, but not great)
An Acer netbook with Ferrari badging?
Kindle?
Current tablet PCs?
The Blackberry Storm and Storm 2? (LOL)

Sorry, a lot of us have seen "anything else" (some of use have even wasted time using them), and we're not really impressed.

But those consoles sure are nice. Yessir they are.

I understand that, but Apple is sitting on a giant pile of cash that isn't doing anything....

Respect them for?

BOB?
WebTV?
PocketPC?
The way they bloated up Office?
The way they strong armed people with IE?
For megapriced upgrades with multiple tiers?
For annoying authentication when you install new hardware?
Vista?
For no easy "clean install" in Win 7 upgrades?

I do love my ancient, now discontinued, M$ trackball though. Funny how Apple can make so many fantastic products but they can't make one decent mouse. Ever.

Meanwhile in the real world: Thanks to Linux running on a non-Apple server that message of yours (that I quoted above) magically appeared on a forum on the Internet, a world where servers running OS X are few and far between.

For like I said earlier, every OS has its advantages... and I'll now add that thought that what works "best" depends largely on the end user's needs.
