Hoooowly shist.

One of these days Apple's economy is going to overshadow what's left of the US economy.

Interesting point, but as we all know, there is finite demand for everything. There are only so many people who can afford to pay £510 for a phone or £612 for an entry level computer.

When will the plateau begin? Will the bubble burst?

I will always regret not investing the $30,000 i won back in dec of 08 in apple stock..sigh. i knew I should have..

Is this really the best you can do?

Of course it is. You've got hardly anything to work with.

Folks like you are left with posting things about infinite/finite and plateauing. What's next, existentialism?

LION CONFIRMED FOR TOMORROW W000T
lol i wish i could convince my dad to buy some stock in APPL

Does your dad have millions to spare? It would be stupid to buy Apple stocks now, the best time was when they were nearly failing.

Anyway, very glad to see that Lion will launch tomorrow. Hope their servers are ready.. I hope my ISP is ready..

iPhone and iPad revenue is over 2/3rds of the total. Not even including the iPod Touch, Apple is now an iOS mobile device company that does Macs on the side. And the majority of Macs are probably portables as well.

I have no idea how much truth there is in this but surely as an American it must concern you?

Yes, it does. Corporate tax rates that promote this type of legal behavior are a sign something needs changed. Comparatively speaking, the US has some of the highest rates in the world. It's really not too surprising all kinds of companies would take seriously their fiduciary responsibilities to their shareholders and protect corporate profits.

Required codec unavailable?

Anyone know why I can't listen to the conference call? I'm being told that the required codec is unavailable. I'm on OS X Lion...

iPhone Q1 to Q2 increase (19 million to 20 million) is way below the smartphone market increase and less than expected (25+ million).

Trying to find bad news - 20% decline in iPod sales? Makes sense though, who needs an iPod when you have a phone that does it all, or else an iPad. I know a number of people who use their iPads as music players now.

Wow, I own a fair amount of AAPL (bought it at $11.24) and follow them and the stock closely but these numbers are insane.

I'm sure you are a very nice person, but I hate you for being smarter than me and buying at 11.24!!

And if "a fair amount" means more than 10 shares, my jealousy knows no bounds.

Congratulations. If Apple keeps going like this...ach, I just can't stand it!

Umm, that's why the iPad, Apple's entry level computer, starts at £400. And the iPhone starts at free as the vast majority of people buy on contract. More to the point Apple don't need to go chasing the bottom end, that way lies the same fate that befell PC Manufacturers as profits shrunk in a market where consumers increasingly considered PC's as consumer goods.

There is no bubble here. The numbers support such growth.

There will be a plateau, but I'm betting it's at least five years from now.
