Nah. I don't want yet another battery to keep charged. As it is, I'd love it if my Apple Watch could just charge itself based on some combination of solar energy, the kinetic energy of swinging my arm when I walk, an actual windable spring, the heat of my body... It would be amazing not to have to take it off every night and charge it on my nightstand.

And... it'll do what Apple does... still offer waning battery life with limited 3rd party integration to preserve battery. Or, redescribed by Apple because of 'security and thinness'.

I like the idea - I can't wear my Apple Watch at night because it needs to charge, and sleep monitoring, etc., is a core function I'd like to have.

Yes, my bed actually has sleep monitoring, as well, but I'd like to see it completely integrated into the Apple system.

I wear an older AWS5 to sleep every night with degraded battery. I workout hard 3 hours a day, use timers in it and keep the screen on. All it takes it a quick 20 minute charge before bed or while I shower. I don’t understand why that’s so difficult?

I'd love this. I wear a mechanical watch, and my Apple Watch only gets used at the gym. However, I'd love the ring for tracking metrics through the day, sleep, Mac login, etc.

Am I the only hypochondriac who doesn't want 24/7 "health tracking"?

Health tracking device be like: "WARNING: YOU ARE GETTING STRESSED". Gee, thanks for telling me, I'm even more stressed now... 😒

The health scare industry must be worth hundreds of billions by now. Healthy people are convinced they need to wear a biosecurity sentinel 24/7 and have an algorithm remind them they woke up at 04:00 to take a ****. It’s not for me but I guess whatever makes folk happy 👍

I wouldn't consider a ring. I haven't had to change my watch band very often but only because it's a lot more forgiving of weight gain and loss and won't slide off my wrist because of my palm.

A ring would not be as forgiving to changes in finger thickness.

However, I think a ring would be amazing for HomeKey. Put your hand on the door handle and the door unlocks. No awkward wrist tap to a number pad or reader, just a non-descript door knob with NFC built in.

I miss Steve..... the company is lost. Tim only cares about money. Apple is becoming the next Samsung. Fridges, Washer Machines and Microwaves coming soon to your nearest Apple Store...

Eh, Apple Music does still kinda suck on macOS. The UI is clunky and feels like "slightly updated iTunes". I've been waiting for an overhaul for quite a while.

Its single greatest fail in my mind is no Downloads tab in the sidebar. You have alter the View category which then hides all other music. Every time I use macOS music I wish I had three hands for a triple facepalm 🤦‍♂️

I have the Apple Watch and Oura ring. I highly value the more accurate and detailed insights for sleep and other activities that I get from the ring, but would love to trade it for an Apple ring. I think Apple would do it even better with more compatibility and integration with my Apple ecosystem.

Would love such a ring. I prefer wearing classic watches
This was my first thought…this might actually be good for the mechanical watch world. At the end of the day I only wear an Apple Watch for these measurements, not even really to tell time, and its usefulness to play media is pretty minimal.

Oura sends you a kit with plastic rings in all available sizes with instructions about wearing them for at least 24 hours to check comfort throughout the day. Apple will probably just have people go to an Apple store for a fitting.
No, no you’ve got it all wrong.

Introducing the innovative, courageous self-sizing device, “Magic Size”.

I wear mine for the notifications, I thought that was its main purpose. No more missed notifications when the phone is in my pocket

Yeah we need some new wild products like iPod Socks

A lot of people buy Apple watches for the health tracking applications. Wouldn't a smart ring cannibalize Apple Watch Sales?
I notice a substantial difference between the sleep data I got when I wore my watch during sleep and the data from my Oura ring. The ring has sensors that better read from the finger than around my wrist and is significantly more comfortable with more detail And accuracy.

lolllllllllll someone’s feeling incredibly defensive of the trillion dollar company today eh?
You got me. That was totally defending them and not asking a simple question. I may be the only person who can be called an Apple Fanboy and Apple Hater in the same day.

So you've got no ideas I take it.
