One of the key features of iPhone 4 is FaceTime, Apple's new video calling feature. Unfortunately, the feature is currently limited to iPhone 4-to-iPhone 4 calls, making it difficult for some people to try out the new feature if they don't know any other users with the device.

Apple has addressed the issue with a new FaceTime support and testing hotline at 1-888-FACETIME, mentioned in an email sent to some iPhone 4 customers by Apple. Callers to the FaceTime hotline will be asked a few questions about their phone and Wi-Fi situation before being transferred to a FaceTime session with an Apple representative. Callers can then receive information about the feature, ask questions, and test things out with the Apple representative on the other side.

The FaceTime hotline is currently available between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Central Time.

I can imagine the people that will do this just to mess with the reps.

Very cool for a support hotline. Post pics (assuming you can still do screen grabs during FaceTime calls).

I feel so bad for the geniuses that have to deal with no less than 77 penis-flashing an hour

Attorney: "Could you please point out the penis that offended you that horrible afternoon?"

I dread to think the abuse these people may be subject to.....
BE NICE TO THEM AND NO CHATROULETTE STYLE SHENANIGANS! :D

Apple should brand their new chat service "FaceRoulette." I feel so bad for the Apple support reps that have to do this... people are going to start calling them just to get naked on FaceTime.

I actually used it, because I was having trouble getting a FaceTime connection. I think it was related to having restored a backup from my 3GS. Here's what fixed it.

    1. Turn off FaceTime
    2. Turn on Airplane Mode
    3. Reboot Phone
    4. Turn off Airplane Mode
    5. Turn on FaceTime

Voila! There I was, looking at some Mac dude with a fancy blue curtain in the background.

Note: There was zero hold time, and I was notified by an automated voice that I was prohibited from recording the call.

Let them try - it'd be easier to trace the pervs on AT&T than over the internet. :)

Wouldn't it be hilarious if the help reps had a button for "remote brick" if they spot anything but a regular "member"?:D
