If this turns out to be true, I just might upgrade.
that "deeper blacks" is missleading....mini-led still have backlit...while oled doesnt lit the pixels on blackI don’t think OLED will be for the iPad Pro.
mini-LED:
☀️ Higher contrast ratio
🔆 Higher brightness
🌑 Deeper blacks
🔋 Power-efficient
💣 Less prone to burn-in than OLED
🛡️ Uses inorganic Gallium nitride (GaN), won’t degrade over time like OLED
Apple is waiting for someone on MR to create a poll to see if MR really wants OLED.What’s taking so long?
Seems like it’s more than a year away.
It's not like we are going anywhere. lolThis saga is going to roll on for months
What a rip, apple tricked everyone into getting the sham mini-LED technology, then flips the table with OLED.
smh
What?? Nobody had to buy. Everybody is fully aware that the next thing is always on the horizon when it comes to technology. So I guess nobody should ever buy anything in your opinion then huh? What a rip, apple tricked everyone into getting the sham mini-LED technology, then flips the table with OLED.
smh
Enough with teh 'gate's' please - literary and figuratively (Bill & Melinda)Wow that's something I definitely want. Mini-led blooming gate is not looking good. While an proven cheaper tech like OLED would avoid that. And tell me when was the last time your iPhone OLED screen burned-in, you would likely replace your iPad before that could happen!
OLED has infinite contrast ratio and it has deepest black (pixels are not even on) your comments are misleading. How is miniLed able to have deeper black? It’s still a backlight?I don’t think OLED will be for the iPad Pro.
mini-LED:
☀️ Higher contrast ratio
🔆 Higher brightness
🌑 Deeper blacks
🔋 Power-efficient
💣 Less prone to burn-in than OLED
🛡️ Uses inorganic Gallium nitride (GaN), won’t degrade over time like OLED
well ... it'll be a stand-off of the future ....I think it’s time Apple focus on something more challenging than another improved ‘square’. Human teleportation perhaps?
I doubt it will get abandoned. The most likely scenario is that the 12.9" will stay mini-LED while the 11" (and perhaps other models) will go OLED. There are trade-offs between the two technologies, and I suspect fabrication limits what size gets each tech. Also, since microLED is stalled, perhaps Apple is hedging their bets to see which tech matures faster.I really doubt Apple poured so much hype and marketing into the XDR display only to abandon it a year later. There are clearly some aspects of a “pro” display that Apple believes can be best accomplished with an LED vs OLED display and mini-LED is the next interim step in the LED evolution.
I’ll be glad when Apple can consolidate on MicroLED.
Do you really think miniLED provides higher contrast ratio and deeper blacks than OLED? You’ve got to be kidding.I don’t think OLED will be for the iPad Pro.
mini-LED:
☀️ Higher contrast ratio
🔆 Higher brightness
🌑 Deeper blacks
🔋 Power-efficient
💣 Less prone to burn-in than OLED
🛡️ Uses inorganic Gallium nitride (GaN), won’t degrade over time like OLED
Seems they are aiming for better energy efficiency, to stretch portable screens to 24" or 30" they want to get power consumption down below 100W so they can use Thunderbolt cable.Screen tech in migration.
What will be final destination?
Bottom line is Apple's anti-reflective coating is industry leading. As they point out in the video, that's a big reason for the difference. Just like LCD displays are different, but all still LCD displays, so are OLEDs (in fact maybe more so!).Bottom line, oled is for casual users, mini-led for prof users and productivity
No prof user will work in dark room ,in non proper light up environment
I don’t think OLED will be for the iPad Pro.
mini-LED:
☀️ Higher contrast ratio
🔆 Higher brightness
🌑 Deeper blacks
🔋 Power-efficient
💣 Less prone to burn-in than OLED Correct

😆 Lots of fake news on this site.Do you really think miniLED provides higher contrast ratio and deeper blacks than OLED? You’ve got to be kidding.
What is your user name? They aya real livin or the ya ya real ivin? What’s taking so long?
Seems like it’s more than a year away.
These OLED iPad Air rumours have been around for many months, since before the mini-LED iPad Pro was released. Furthermore, the same sources predicting the mini-LED iPad Pro were also the ones predicting OLED iPads. This shouldn’t be a surprise to those who frequent MacRumors. What a rip, apple tricked everyone into getting the sham mini-LED technology, then flips the table with OLED.
smh
Not if price matters. Given the dimming zones available in today's iPP, vs say Samsung's QLED Neo TV, I doubt micro-LED is going to be that much better to warrant such a significant price difference. We have yet to see micro led. That might be best.
