LMAO, you get this worked up about someone pointing out that the lack of storage could easily be solved with a simple microSD slot....

Go on, defend Apple on this. Or defend Samsung. Seriously, give a reasonable defence of why consumers shouldnt have this option at all.

The market has already decided. They don’t want SD cards in phones.

I so wish Steve was still around because he would have a brilliant answer to this like he did about the floppy, or Adobe Flash on iPhone, or cheap laptops.

I was planning to buy this but between this and the 5x lack of and the cr@ppy slow usb cable included, mehhh i pass, this is not "PRO" apple except your prices.

That would require a complete redesign of the phone, take away valuable internal real estate, and reduce the water resistance, for something that almost no one cares about. That is why they removed the sim tray. ALso Apple is a corporation with a goal to generate revenue (call it corporate greed if you want to but the fact of all publicly traded corporations) . Having tiers of cost with different memory is a huge profit center. Won't happen. Only if Apple (or Samsung, Google) thought they could make more revenue by adding this outdated feature, would they.

I certainly don't have any interest in reducing my iPhones battery size and water resistance to have that. If I want more memory I will buy the next size up. I don't mind paying a few hundred more for the memory I need on a device that is integral to my daily life.

WTF? You'd look to Steve Jobs to tell me how YOU feel about device features?

I wasn't asking for Jobs' take, I was asking for YOURS. Think for yourself dude. Quit cheerleading for Apple, it's not healthy.

So when Apple moved to e-sim and left the area for a sim card filled with a solid block....what was your opinion of that? They could have easily made that as expandable storage..... EASILY. You know they choose not to because they want to suck every penny out of you they can.

At the time, LAST year they were not going to design TWO phone internals for global markets. EMEA probably had a requirement to maintain a physical SIM capability. So, all they had to design/engineer was the OUTER casing for different SKU’s for the USA and other markets. Internal design and trying to utilize that internal space for something else, like an SD slot (never on an iPhone) or more battery would have been way too hard from a manufacturing standpoint.

Point I'm making is that Apple could easily add the option letting consumers prolong the life of a device but they choose not to because they're more interested in making money than stopping e-waste. Samsung, Google and all them SUCK TOO in this regard.

I've got a Samsung S10e, my previous phone was a Sony XZ1 Compact, both have MicroSD card slots and I love the option; a ton of storage space with all my photos loaded onto it without the need to constantly download photos saved to the cloud. If the phone dies or breaks, no biggie because my data is on the card. As for it getting lost or stolen; that never bothered me because I always made backups (as everyone should regardless).

I'm just glad the Samsung S10e is more than good enough all around, the camera is great and I don't really it 'only' has two lenses (ultra-wide and standard). I'll be using this phone until it craps out completely and then I'll consider the S20 FE, the last Samsung phone with a MicroSD slot. I'd go back to Sony but their camera app doesn't do auto-adjustment of highlights and all, so pictures look a bit bland (despite being EXCELLENT sharpness and detail). Plus, the Sony's are huge... which is another giant middle finger to consumers because we dont all need or even want giant sized phone that are 6+ inches large.

You say "suck every penny". I would say generate revenue for shareholders, which the executives are hired to do. THey aren't leaving that blocked off area forever. They will certainly use that space for battery, etc once they can convince China to switch to eSIM.

Trust me, if I said what I want to say to you, I’d get banned on here.

If you want your crappy SD card in a phone, go to Sony. Otherwise, keep wasting your time whining about nonexistent things.

Nonexistent and this guy recommends a Sony.

LOL, Apple consumers. What a weird bunch.

I'm getting different info from the Apple (UK) site. Perhaps OP encountered a glitch, at least that's what I'm hoping as I have a 128GB on the way. Also limiting to 1080p from 4k AND 30fps from 60fps seems a bit excessive, but I guess we will see when the phones arrive.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but you can record any flavour of ProRes (except XQ) for free with the new Blackmagic Camera app on your iPhone.

It requires iOS 16.0 or later and a device with the A12 Bionic chip or later.

They couldn’t put it there because it‘s not eSIM in most places outside the US, and Apple isn’t going to make two different phones.

This is why everyone who plans on recording videos or taking photos in 4K should opt for either 512 GB’s or 1 TB of storage, just to be safe.

Also, the 128 GB’s of storage on the Pro model needs to be gone, just like they’ve done it for the Pro Max model.

And speaking of storage, I believe that starting from the iPhone 16 series, that the “Pro Max” name is going to be “Ultra” & that Apple will introduce a 2 TB storage option as the newer high-end storage option instead of 1 TB as usual.

Of course, you’re going to be paying a lot more for it, I say, another $200 or $300 after 1 TB’s of storage that will put people over the $2,000 mark, with or without AppleCare+ & including sales tax.

I have to agree… it is pretty weird that this site exists solely to list Apple rumours, and very weird that we all post comments here. Self-awareness has its issues. 😀

Confirmed in the user guide here that ProRes video recording on the internal storage is still limited to 30 fps on 256GB and higher iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max; Only external storage unlocks 60 fps.

Hey, we just released a new car, it has a set of awesome surround-sound speakers.... Too bad that in the base model, none of them are wired up. You want to actually use those speakers? Just pony up for the GT model.

Yeah, car analogies, I know...

Disappointing. Base storage for the Pro model should be increased to 256
And the price up by $100? Why do you expect Apple to give you free things in the middle of an inflationary period?

iPhone 15 Pro 128GB should not exist in this world. It’s embarrassing.

I wish the base storage started from 256GB instead.

It should exist. To me, even 128Gb is overkill.

With iCloud Photo Library, my pictures only takes up 5Gb on the phone even though the library itself is about 150 Gb.
