Apple says 23rd, FedEx says 24th...Which is it?

Just checked my FEDEX Tracking number and its says...

I am still getting very impatient with FedEx not updating.

It has been "Departed FedEx Location" in Newark, NJ since 10:00PM last night.
Honestly, I really want it today.

And my Delivery Date is STILL 24th even though I got the e-mail from Apple saying I should receive it today.

My phone is now at the local sort facility, however the FedEx rep is saying they are receiving a lot of calls regarding the 23rd delivery but mine is still scheduled for 24th and will not be delivered today regardless of the email Apple sent.

Great.. I'll keep an eye out and see if it goes to Out for delivery..

Yes, I think Apple is locked and loaded for another CF situation. I just got off the phone w/ FedEx too and rec'd the same info. That said, my experience w/ the night shift is that they are doing well to read off the computer screen.

Typically FedEx Express packages for me do not show as being "On FedEx Vehicle" until around 8am so I'll wait until till then. Then I'll call up FedEx again to see if it's really out for delivery or if there is an "exception." I think that is going to be the only way to know for sure. I don't really care either way, but I don't want wait for no reason.

I think you meant 8AM here? Mine normally goes on delivery truck around that same time. That's what I'm waiting for.

Yes, my tracking is still 6/24 by 4:30pm. Interestingly the FedEx CSR told me 6/24 by 5pm, so looks like they can't even make their mind up.

After talking to 4 reps, 2 told me it would be deilvered by the 23rd. I asked the 3rd women (who confirmed that as well) if that meant it would arrive by the 23rd and she said yes. The 4th rep said it would move on the 23rd, but not ship until the 24th.

Looks like he was right.

My fedex tracking has not changed to June 23rd yet. Based on where it is now (desk sort facility in Phila), there is a chance I can still get it today. It may need to go to one more fedex facility before it's on vehicle for delivery. Only thing is I am out of the office at 12:30 for the rest of the day today and it could be delivered after that Then back to work tomorrow and won't be able to activate it until tomorrow evening.

I don't think it's getting from Memphis to my door all in a day.

Helping to keep it all in perspective, Friday is my two-year anniversary of finishing up my radiation therapy for cancer. So far, two years free and clear. After that, getting my iPhone a day later than expected is not a cause for alarm and panic.

I'm watching CNBC right now, the show SquawkBox and the host just did a quick blurb on the iPhone and said that Apple announced the pre-order phones should begin showing up today.

Unless it just hasn't been scanned as it got put on a truck I don't see it happening today.

It arrived there at 5:30 yesterday so it wouldn't surprise me if in a few hours it said "On truck for delivery."

I just got off the phone with fedex. Rep said that delivery is still showing June 24th. He said to call back after 8:00am and they would call the local facility to get more info. He did say based on the location of the sorting facility, that I could get the package today.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else. My iPhone arrived in Columbus yesterday at the sort facility but it did not leave the facility until 5 am this morning. I received the email that it is being delivered today but FedEx still shows tomorrow. It will surely be an interesting day. Hopefully it will be updated soon to show it is out for delivery.

Wednesday would be awesome! I took off cause I don't want it sitting outside. I'll be kinda frustrated if it doesn't come wednesday like them email stated and I need to take thursday off too.

FedEx will NOT leave it sitting outside at the door. It muts be signed for or they will return it to the hub and make a few more attempts before sending it back.

Some w ill get them today, however some will be held until tomorrow.. the best way is to wait as long as you can, wait for that "On fedex delivery vehicle" status to show up.. if it doesn't sometime this am.. then I'd be willing to bet, it will be tomorrow..

FedEx may or may not have been clued in on this, either way they are not talking. We just want a clear answer, that's all. Yes, no, in, out. It's like it's amateur hour over at Apple/FedEx/ATT with this launch.

Don't sit home content just because it's on the truck. You need to call up FedEx if you see that and ask if there is a delivery hold. It's very possible for it to be on the truck but not be scheduled for delivery. Don't get faked out.

This is exactly how I feel. If it comes today, awesome. If it comes tomorrow, that's fine. Regardless, Apple sent us the email saying it would be delivered today and everything is lining up for it to be but there's still a good chance it won't be.

If mine doesn't end up on a truck for delivery today I'll begin to wonder if Apple made that decision on their own and left Fedex by themselves on how to manage it.

Both of my phones are in Tampa. I ordered mine from AT&T and it's supposed to be delivered today. I ordered my wife's from Apple and it still says delivery tomorrow... I also received the email from Apple saying it would arrive the 23rd. We'll see if they put them both on the truck for delivery.

Should be out for delivery soon! Hopefully both of them.

In the past if my fedex boxes have been at the sort facility by 5am, they go out that day as well, and are updated at 8am as "on truck coming to me."

Im guessing most everyone will see an update at 8am.

I do not think calling FedEx is going to do squat. The person you will be able to talk to is clueless except what the computer is telling them.

I have to think that the staggered delivery dates are to "try" to save poor AT&T's servers from another Armageddon!
