Tomorrow price will go up when it’s sold out. Demand is something I as a shareholder am very much interested $5+ tomorrow

Not likely. Sales of 30m+ X units this quarter is already baked into the share price -- it's why AAPL has been on the rise this year. Wall Street is "buy on the rumor, sell on the news." Apple probably won't announce weekend sales numbers unless they are record breaking, which, if there is a supply constraint cannot occur. Apple hasn't announced weekend sales since the iPhone 6 and also has never announced sales numbers of individual models. So we won't know how well the X performed until January.

Like I said before unless Apple adjusts 1Q guidance then everything is on schedule as they previously announced.

What will affect the stock is when 4Q revenue is announced next week. That will give us shareholders an idea of how well the non-X models sold as well as the first full quarter with the new iPad Pros. Also a look at how S3 AW is growing the catch-all basket it's revenue is recorded in.

I just love how people think they're entitled to anything, especially over others. Not.

Btw, with all those talks about having plenty available in-store. I still can't go into any of my the local official stores and pick up certain 8 versions... I still feel like we're gonna see a "4" happening all over again (back then, when I was lucky to pick up the last available black one at a local store right before christmas...the supply couldn't meet demand for a long time, and don't get me started about the white one...)

Most people feel entitled to certain things, especially those in the tech and fashion world. It's unfortunate and I don't agree with it either.

Wow what area do you live in? All of my local Apple Stores in southern california have every 8 version available. They had a bunch of them the morning of launch actually, I went in and checked because I was curious. Good luck securing an X tonight! Hope we all get what we want.

We have had them in all stores (Apple, Best Buy, carrier stores, etc) ever since launch.

“The days of waiting in line... are over for our customers.”

There has been a lot of change at Apple. Change that has really struck a nerve with many loyalists. And while I get it, fully, I also understand that Apple’s change is necessary - if not evolutionary.

I’ve been using Macs exclusively since ‘91. I can recall a time when I was more emotionally invested - looking to convert everyone in my path. To "show them they way." A time when Apple was the underdog. The anti-establishment. A time when I was part of what truly felt like a special niche: the young creative. I was using Macs for making, for doing. And while it seems a no-brinaer now, there was a time when "making stuff" on a computer was pretty niche. And while I’m grateful to continue earning a living behind a Mac, I fully recognize I am no longer their target audience. And I also recognize that is a good thing. A necessary thing.

As Apple has evolved, and the forums have polarized, I’ve been pretty open to their evolution. While many have called for Tim’s head for every perceived step and misstep, I’ve been enjoying the ride. Appreciating what they seem to be trying to accomplish with a such a massive audience. What they are trying to scale is nothing short of staggering.

So as I mentioned in my original post, the one change that I feel has really taken a more significant, if not nearly invisible, toll on the community (and ultimately the company and the brand), was the decision to forgo launch day lines. I know... Who likes lines? Well, it isn't actually the standing in a line aspect that I miss. No, it's the energy, the comrade, the gathering of like-minded people in the same space, at the same time for more or less the same thing. Again, the community. As the definition of "community" evolves and moves more into a digital world (in the name of convenience), there are aspects of an evolving community that are more isolating, less connective. So yes, while it is a line, it is also so much more.

So that is why I'm glad to see that there will likely be some queuing next Friday at Apple Stores across the globe. Depending on my pre-order status, I may be there checking in on us... See how we're doing. :)

Thank you, did not know that. But yes, you are absolutely right. Apple is changing, but I also think it has to, as you also mentioned. The market is not the same anymore and hardware has caught up everywhere in the majority of components. More than ever Apple is relying on the experience that they provide. And as Steve always said: The experience starts with the purchase of the device.

And yes, the standing in line was something awesome for us die-hard fans. But most customers just want the best and easiest experience and I think Angela is doing a lot to offer that. And most people also don't want to stand in line for something so trivial (trivial in their eyes not mine) as a phone.

Bringing back the lines will appease the diehard fans here, while still giving other experiences for other customers.

I am all for choices and now we can choose to get it delivered to our homes, reserve one at the Apple Store or wait in line.

Well said.
Cheers!

Hawaii. And they didn't have them available for pickup until just a day or two ago. Now all available in-store.

I'm not (or rather: did not) preordering an X. I'd like one, but I'll go with the 8 when I'm back from traveling. First, I really don't want to buy something so expensive sight unseen. Second, I didn't have the money to spare right now. And finally, I need a new phone, soon, and can't "afford" to wait months.
