If you have to believe social media, Europeans are going boycott American products. So I guess no need to do this.

No complaining when you don't get new iOS features that the rest of the world gets because Apple would rather not share them with their competitors.
It's not new for apple to introduce features in the us first, then in other markets, so...

Once again the EU shows its complete ignorance when it comes to technology. This is just so unbelievably bad. I can't wait to hear everyone in the EU complain that they can't get iOS features the rest of the world gets because their nanny-state "government" is so breathtakingly retarded.

If you can't compete, just whine to the EU.

Well maybe if they were more user friendly and allowed you to easily reconnect Bluetooth devices that aren't AirPods this wouldn't have happened.

It's annoying having to go through several menus to get into Bluetooth settings every time on my Apple TV 4K.

Yes, but the argument is "no user will be forced to leave the walled garden". And that isn't true. If I wanted an open ecosystem I would have purchased an Android device. The EU doesn't need to "fix" that for me - the competition ALREADY exists.

What the EU and its defenders don't understand is that the reason people buy into Apple's ecosystem and stay there is because Apple's rules result in better products and user experiences, not because the rules hinder competition.
You can still stay in your walled garden for the better results. But I was astouned to find out, that my significant other who rocks a fairphone can't connect also connect to my iPhone and for multiple listens I somehow magically need multiple Airpods and or Beatrs, or in short just Apple branded products.

Many will not complain as they have been and will continue to stop using Apple products. On a secondary note, I see that you share Musk's use of outdated and insulting terminology when attempting and failing to make a coherent argument.

Will they? According to Apple's last financial statement I see no evidence of "many people leaving".

Fascinating. I will be sharing stuff between my iPhone and Pixel with Google’s Quick Share, whether Tim Apple likes it or not. Can’t wait for it.

This stuff should’ve always been cross-platform anyway. There is not a single good reason for Chromecast and AirPlay to exist and compete; for having separate Android Auto and CarPlay; for having AirDrop and Quick Share, Find My and Find My Device, and so on.

All these technologies should be interoperable, just like we’re so used to online cross-play in video games nowadays. You value Apple more than yourself if you think otherwise, and that’s not a great thing to do.

Since this is all centered around the iPhone in the EU, maybe Apple should just sell a blank slate. An iPhone that all of these groundbreaking European tech companies can load their own operating system onto. We could have EpicOS or SpotifyOS running and people can then have all the choice they need playing Fortnite while listening to Spotify.

Meanwhile for those of us that own iPhones, Apple Watches, Macs, AppleTVs etc. that have for years enjoyed and benefited from how the ecosystem works together can continue.
