EU users: When will we get Apple Intelligence?

Apple was waiting for this to determine what features they would be allowed to offer to the EU as a whole. Now, we’ll see if there’s any value to Apple to spend the money required to make their products work with every crap product out there (ONLY in the EU) if if they just don’t release certain features there (and remove other features) in order to stay in compliance.

Apple will likely lose marketshare, but they were going to lose money trying to make their products work with all the poorly performing, maldesigned junk out there anyway, so it’s a wash. They just won’t hire those additional developers and take the hit. Maybe.

Boo hoo. Large company doesn't like regulations that hurts their bottom line and benefits consumers.

What else is new?

While the EU is far from perfect, most of their regulations are well-meaning.
I agree. I like apple and really try to tay in the apple ecosystem because of my perception that this is a better way to stay malware free. Maybe I am wrong.

Apple: “We will continue to work with the European Commission to help them understand our concerns on behalf of our users.”

Translation: “Everyone, remember these are the same boneheads that, when Microsoft told them giving their level of access to the kernel to third parties was a bad idea, didn’t understand the issues and forced Microsoft to do a thing that then caused CrowdStrike to be able to take down Windows ALL OVER THE WORLD… Yeah, that event was based off of a poor decision by regulatory idiots that have regulated SO well, they’ve driven out all the competitive tech companies. They don’t even have a group of technical experts in the EU anymore that they could consult! So, just realize that we’ve got a big job ahead of us.”

You have completely misinterpreted that quote
Yes, i do hear the meaning of what he said has been changed since he said it, posthumously by other people. The world is like that - it happens regularly. But the words he said stand true in the way he said them, and meant them, and history shows it’s exactly what they did - and continue to do. So no real misinterpretation of anything then.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The EU which is really a bunch of treaties between states has destroyed the smaller nations or is in the process of destroying them for good.

A total break up is not impossible.

I live in Europe and don't understand at all what you are trying to say. I find your view rather embarrassing.

That's Apple's decision. Why shouldn't they be allowed to differentiate their products with a superior experience? What's next, Coke has to share its recipe with Pepsi because "it's not fair people like Coke more?"
Again all wrong. Exposing an API for interoperability is completely different than delivering source code.

What you're suggesting is like requiring Coke to only be available in aluminum cans because that is the best experience for Coke users.

This will just create 2 versions of iOS, one for Europe, that allows these career politicians to spy on their own citizens, and one for US, with real privacy in mind.
You think the US isn’t spying on its own citizens? What do you think the FBI and NSA do all day? That’s how they catch criminals. All governments spy on their own citizens.

Apple sure seems to want our euros, though.
Apple is welcome to receive my euros, because I'm always happy about their products. The world can be that simple.
It's a win-win situation between me as a European customer and Apple as a manufacturer of great technology.

Hopefully some regulators won't ruin it.

Well, this is Europe. They are so socialist, they even want a strong military without paying for it, it has to be provided for free by the USA.

So it's no surprise Europe wants American tech for free without having to do any work for it.
There are so many things wrong with that statement. Quite apart from it coming straight out of the Fox News playbook it’s simply not true.
