Just hope Music now works - as all I had previously was 'Loading Music Library' all the time.

Apple Music works fine for me, they even fixed the artwork in the last release. Maybe something specific about your library?

Mine stucks at the same point. Restarted the Mac, and it stucks at “less than a minute remaining” again.

EDIT: but finally the installation started.

Keep us updated, i was having same issue. So you were having it with DEV Beta 4? So if the next Public version is the same as DEV Beta 4, then I will continue to wait (I went back to Mojave).
Yes, on beta 4. I’m updating now but I’m out, I’ll check it out in a couple hours.

I'm hopeful the extra days before releasing this means they will have fixed the extremely long update times some of us had on b4. As mine took around 40 hours last time (!!), I will hold off until some of you who had issues last time around verify that it's all fine now.
From past Catalina updates: iMac 5 hours to update, MacBook Pro 5-6 hours to update, however the MacBook (the 12" one) 45 mins...go figure.

Music on B4 seemed to work better for me. Hopefully, this one polished it even further. I'll comment back on what I see.

I had to log out & log back in for Apple Music to load on B5. So far that seems like only issue, using MacBook 12 (2016). App Store needs to be refreshed manually for notification icon to update properly. Indexing doesn't seem to slow down like in earlier betas. Still wouldn't use on daily driver...

First Dev beta smooth update for me, all of the former ones were a pain in the behind, I never had problems updating due to space constraints, I did on the former Beta's, last time I cleaned out a ton, might have helped.

So, if you are low on free space, beware, you could up ending having major headaches updating to a new beta, or even install for the first time.

Install went quickly - everything seems ok apart from Firefox. Whatever version (standard, Beta, Nightly) now crashes on start. Back to Safari temporarily. Back to swiping back on forums and waiting for the page to reload each time ....

Safari seems to be a bit buggy on mine, I open a link in a new tab, when switching to that tab nothing loads until I refresh.

Will do a logout and/or a restart shortly.

Welp, guess I'm skipping this one, too. Thanks for the heads up.

As I said in an earlier post, I didn't have the same issue on B5. My local media loaded and Apple Music didn't. Solved by Logging out and logging back in. Just takes a while to load everything again.

Also can confirm Firefox (all versions) crash after load. Google Chrome also requires the holding of the control button to open the first time. Haven't found any other issues yet, seems a lot more stable but again still wouldn't use as a daily driver...

Ive got an issue. Brand new MacBook 15 (2019). Have had the computer running for about 2 hours and the fans will not stop spinning after new Catalina update. IMDPersistenceAgent in CPU on Activity Monitor is just sucking up all my CPU. When I force stop it , the spinning stops, but it comes right back on. Its annoying

try resetting PRAM restart you computer while holding COMMAND + OPTION + R + P. Let the computer cycle restart a couple of times while holding it, then release and boot normally.

Wish I had your experience, haha!

Strange. What wireless do you have, smoke signals? Seriously though, my update was fast, I am in Public beta, not developer, not sure why that should impact it.

FYI, there were major problems for many, one even reported it took a day for the update to be finished, it was widespread.
