These are from the iPhone 7 event. A lot of people were upset when they didn't come with iOS 10 and I assume Apple heard the complaints and decided to offer them. I, like you, am not the biggest fan of these. But I know a lot of other people will be happy.
@randymac09 - O/T In regards to your signature quote, there is a lot of truth in it. Unfortunately, Aristotle did not say that. The correct author of the quote is Will Durant and you can find the words in his book The Story of Philosophy: The Lives and Opinions of the World’s Greatest Philosophers.

I'll give it a look. I guess it's one of those quotes that is popularly misrepresented. I appreciate the heads up!

iOS 10 introduced to me extra steps to do the same task, poor user experience, bugs, bugs, bugs, slower performance, poor battery life etc so when I see an article about a new update I immediately read what's new in hopes some of these issues are addressed. This time it was "new emojis" which sums up pretty much Apple's approach to iOS since iOS 7, you gotta keep them 16 yo girls buying iPhones. I'm seriously disappointed at Apple. iPhone is probably still the best phone in the market but if so very marginally, they are messing things up big time.

I am simply sick of all these updates. It's completely absurd and would be unnecessary if apple knew how write good and dependable code. But it's bug after bug after bug. The only beneficiary of this is this board as it gives all of you loads to moan and groan about. But for us regular users, it's a nightmare. Spending day after day updating all my devices and then discovering that a new bug was introduced that will require another update. If Steve were still alive, this wouldn't be happening. I'm going to buy a pc and the new pixel phone right now. I'm done with apple forever.

Lol, your right they are not needed. Good bye and enjoy the hacks, the **** that crashes and breaks all time. Oh, and all you extra time, re-read the sentence beginning with, "Good bye."

Care to elaborate?

What extra steps and poor user experience. Bugs, bugs bugs...well okay they've existed since ios 1. Slower performance since what? Seems the same on my 6s. As does the battery life. You think all apple has been doing since ios 7 has been new emojis?

Is it me or does the 3D Touch look more transparent? Also in notifications you can choose when you want previews. Don't know if that's new or not.

I was using LG Tone Infinim HBS‑900 Wireless In‑Ear Headset. And it does support A2DP.
When you first turn your headset on, does iOS/AirPlay grab the device and start playing Notification/Alert tones through it (with nothing coming from the phone speaker)?

The sound when you plug in your phone to charge doesn't work. Typical beta bugs. Nothing serious so far.

Apparently it's related to keyboard clicks. If they are off, no charging sound.
Wondering now if they fixed that issue of keyboard sounds settings applying to the Calculator app keys and the selector wheel in various apps and various drop down menus.

I'm slightly annoyed they would group the charging chime with keyboard sounds. Don't like keyboard sounds, but like the chime. Its verification that the device is charging, especially now because iOS 10 takes 2-3 seconds to start charging.

For those who have installed: is this solid? Worth it or wait?

Public beta will probably be out tomorrow or later in the week and debating what to do. iPhone7.

Yes, you're right. The animation isn't glitchy, they literally re-worked the animation to be exactly how it's being shown.

Apple did this because they want the animation to start immediately on the first click, rather than waiting for a second click before returning home.

It's like this (for anyone that's interested)

iPhone 6s:
1. User clicks home button once
2. iPhone says to itself "Don't do anything yet! We don't know if the user is going to double click, so we don't know what action to take just yet!
3. After a second or so, the iPhone goes "False alarm! User just wanted to go home! Start the home animation!!"
4. The screen smoothly transforms into the size of its home screen icon.

iPhone 7 does things differently:
1. User clicks home button once
2. iPhone says to itself "Start the animation! We'll deal with a second click as it comes!"
3. The wallpaper however, cannot move yet because the iPhone doesn't know when you'll do the second click.
4. If a second click is detected during the initial animation, the iPhone says "Wait! The user clicked again! Interrupt the current animation and show them the multitasking screen!"

Because of the fact that the iPhone has to be prepared to show the multitasking screen, the way the app animates to the home screen is different. It starts off by shrinking the screen slowly, but keeping the same proportions of the app screen (16:9). Once it gets past the size of the multitasking window size, it starts to distort slightly and blend into it's icon on the home screen. However, since the zoom animation started off slow, it has to make up time by speeding up toward the end of the animation, but someone forgot to tell the wallpaper that, so it lags behind the rest of the animation.

That's why the iPhone 7's animation looks off-putting.

If they could just get the wallpaper to move at the same speed as the zoom animation, it wouldn't look so weird or delayed.

I hope this helped some people out

Thank you so much for the clarification on this topic
Once you do a slow motion of the animation the wallpaper delay is visible big time.

Anyhow, not an end of the world thing for me, but it feels crappy, fleels like a lag and makes my 1 year old 6s feel much more fluid.
Even my work 5s feels much better than the 7 plus.
Not sure what those guys were smoking but overall ios10 feels slower on the 7 plus.

Maybe if the animation speed would be constant, the double click point would not be so visible, right now it feels it is made up by 2 steps and a glitch...

What would be Apple's reasoning for not implementing a dark mode? I've seen it done before on a jailbroken device. You would think the more options the better...you would think!

I'm not sure why Apple hasn't provided dark mode for iOS. Most seem to think Apple will never implement dark mode. I would truly appreciate this feature. I still think it's a future possibility. I believe Apple TV has a dark mode.

Hey guys, I have installed public beta and this morning I received 10.1.1 and still have the public beta profile on my 7+ I want 10.2 but do I need to delete the public profile 1st or something like that. Thanks.

This is the dev beta so your public beta profile won't "see" it, you need to wait for the public beta which will probably follow within the next few days as long as the dev beta doesn't throw up any catastrophic issues

I disliked the keyboard clicks on the selector wheel and the charging chime. Everybody has different likes. :)

Are the new wallpapers stills or animated live pictures as shown in the iPhone 7 demo devices?
