So far after just a couple of hours I am enjoying iOS 14. Usually I download the beta to take a quick peak and then downgrade. I might keep this one for a bit. So far all the apps I use are working, no crashes so far. I did have to reboot after playing with the weather widget it got stuck and would not go back to the Home Screen. Other than that no issues so far. I am digging the App Library.

Was bit impatient and installed without backing up..! I trust iCloud ans Dropbox. Hopefully, will be fine. So far no issue.

Good Luck. I would have really suggested an archived backup on a computer. But to each their own.

I installed 14 on my 11 Pro Max; my main smartphone device. So far everything is working properly. It is not a huge change.

My "Other" in iPhone Storage is 7.72 GB.

One thing I dislike is whenever I install a beta update all my magazines have to download again. The download indicator (red line) for each magazine is still too thin. It appears it is a bit thicker in iOS 14.

I like the home screen widgets.

How do you test the "spatial" feature for iPods Pro?

2 features are still needed -
1) When I swipe-up on a photo in Photos app it would be good to see all information about the picture and have the ability to change filename right there.
2) When I tap (wake-up) the phone and see the lock screen, seeing the last few apps (up to 5) I am using right there would improve multi-tasking. Swipe up to show notifications.

I am downloading now and going to give it a spin on my XR. I usually try the betas out and then go back to the normal public iOS. As long as you know how to archive backup/restore it’s not that risky. Just know what you are doing.
Will installing this beta wipe my phone clean? No pictures, apps messages etc?

And how do I archive backup /restore? I'd it the the she as backing up your phone and then in future deleting your phone and then restoring from backup?

Santander UK banking app doesn’t work, but MetroBank, HSBC, TescoBank, Monzo, Moneybox, PayPal all work... :)

“Preparing Update” for 30 mins now. I’m not sure if it means it’s downloading and is taking a long time or if it downloaded already and preparing is another process. Nonetheless, taking way longer than any previous update.

EDIT: Looks like "Preparing Update" is how they describe the entire process before the install, including the download. All you guys downloading at the same time must've slowed it down for me. 😜

Installing at a good clip now.

Installing the beta does not wipe your phone. Your stuff remains if the install is good.

I think yesterday, or Tuesday I got a stray notification about about 13.6 being ready... I'm 100% on public, no betas or profiles installed. Haven't done the betas in last couple of cycles.

Clicked on it, phone unlocked then vanished, nothing in settings, was very weird. Maybe they found something last minute.

I’m running 13.6 beta and it’s very smooth..

In my opinion, the best backup is through a computer. Use iTunes (or Finder on macOS Catalina). The Apple beta site also tells you how to do this. Click here for the site.

So, I have iPadOS 14 now on my iPad Pro, and I have a set of Airpod Pros, but I'm not seeing anything about spacial 3D mode or whatever. It does have the new "share" feature, but that's it. I can't find anything about spacial mode.

Is it not in yet?

Installed iOS 14 PB2 on my iPhone 8 Plus work phone with only a few apps.
Install went smooth. Saw the fireworks is working in messages.
New lines sometimes don’t start here with uppercase. Worked for a bit but now it’s back. Is that MR or iOS?
Still can’t scroll the url in safari without releasing and pressing. I miss iOS 12 editing features.
trying to determine if there’s an edit bubble to move the cursor around or if editing works better.
Seems the same as iOS 13.
Startup and shutdown seem the same. Although on shutdown the spinning graphic is brighter on the lcd screen. Usually it's dim.

I just downloaded the public beta profile and reset my device and it says iOS 14, but I’m on an iPad so it should be iPadOS right?

Go with God, brave, brave Beta testers:eek: I've considered it, but I really need CarPlay to work in my Jeep, as I've foresworn satellite radio for awhile. Anyone check out the Beta with CarPlay yet?
Works fine for me. Pioneer nex1500

Is an encrypted backup on iTunes still the only way to then restore on a new iPhone with all app passwords and settings intact?

Will we be able to directly update from iOS14 beta to iOS14 release, or will we have to downgrade to iOS13 first? Also will iOS14 beta still work with WatchOS 6 as I don't want to beta my watches?

As far as I know. Also retains all health data.

Right before the public release of iOS 14, just delete the public beta certificate from your phone. Then going forward you will be back on only receiving non-beta releases, including 14.0. No need to downgrade.

What happened at Apple from last year to this year's quality control with the release of iOS 14 beta being so solid already.
Who left or who came onboard to make such a change?
I'm hoping this improvement spans across all devices and hardware making the ecosystem great again.
Maybe so much brain trust was spent secretly on the new ARM hardware last year that they had to scale back software quality control and now that it's been finalized they can spend more resources fine tuning the software now.

Initial impressions are very positive for me thus far. Only encountered one UI bug and a tremendous amount of “other” storage. Honestly, I am really starting to see how bad iOS 13 was based on how much better this beta is.

It’s not yet available.

I’ve been trying to get the iPadOS beta but to no avai. Uninstalled the iOS 13 beta profile, installed iOS14 beta profile and restarted device. iPadOS 14 comes up under updates and downloads and then verify the update goes through, but when it goes to the install screen it only loads a bit and then the install essentially crashes. I’ve tried this four times and still the same thing. I’ve even removed and reinstalled the profile a few times. This is disappointing because I really wanted to try iOS 14 but I guess I will have to wait.

Um, Feels and looks just like iOS 13. What am I missing?
And iOS 13 felt like iOS 12, and so on and so forth.

iOS 12 went along similar lines. It can depend on how much time and resources are allocated and allowed to focus on what needs to be focused on.

Please advise if Tesla app works on iOS 14?
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-14-broken-buggy-apps.2242226/ might be of some help.
