I don't want or have a need for album art, it's nothing but clutter BUT Apple insists on pushing in onto my iPhone and iPad - and they didn't ask me if that was OK.

screenshot is kinda misleading... all the other pages look nearly the same as present version.

chronologically = the order of release dates... no? or do you mean the order in which you bought them..??

He means that sometimes the dates are out of order, for example, Dark Side of the Moon was released in 1973, but the remastered version doesn't have that date on it and will sort to the top of the album list.

The app looks like a white inbred version of Cyanogen's new music app on Nightly releases and Shuttle +, also for android. Once more, innovation is Apple's word of the day.

That's as ugly a UI that was in the previous versions, can't anyone at apple, especially since they acquired beats, design a good looking, well working Music App ? Third parties have nothing to worry about I will still probably use Groove

In the Now Playing screen it don't which track i'm on out of how many there is on the album. kind of miss it.

Put the album name below artist name in the now playing screen like in the old days. Sometimes its so damn long because the artist and the album name can belong and it will look better as well.

Well either you're pretending to be oblivious about the features of iOS 8 or you really don't know; you can actually search for the album by name.

Stop trying to make it sound more complicated than it actually is; you people just love looking for things to complain about.

I'm well aware of the searching capability. And that's great for when I know exactly what I want. But sometimes I'd like to be able to *browse* and then decide. That's just how it works when you have decades of music, and it makes sense to organize things by their type or brand.

And that method works for a large collection of anything, really. I'm just glad my grocery store is divided into sections and aisles. Otherwise Ajax would be right near the apples, and yams would be near yellow mustard.

Nor is this about complaining, it's about restoring a methodology that worked very well in previous iOS versions.

Looks like a winner. The current music app has been total suck since iOS7. Hopefully they'll solve the music skipping issue (when I switch between apps) but I'm convinced that's a lack of RAM issue at this point.

There is no option to add to playlist anywhere. Well, at least I can't figure it out.

Edit: Seems that the bigger playlists you can not add songs too but the smaller playlists I am able to add a song but it's buggy.

But your original question, you can not add from Now Playing screen

And for this reason, this app is still broken. How hard is this to do? Making playlists on the go is a huge pain in the butt. :(

So did they break lyrics display again, or is it still working on both iPhone and iPad?

Can someone please tell me if artist and albums that are in your playlists, show up in the Artist tab and the Album tab?

The reason being is that I hate when i have to scroll through a bunch of onesies in album view to get to a real, full album I want to listen to.

Meh. Google Play Music does it better.

I can't stand the way Google Music displays album art.

If iOS 9 really is serious about bug fixes, then it's smart to beta test stuff like this now and get it out of the way. They can announce the juicy bits like rolling Beats into this app, pricing information, better music matching and more at the WWDC keynote.

I've no idea why people still use iTunes Music. Until they launch a streaming service, I'll be sticking with Spotify.

Lyrics aren't available. It's a known issue in this build.

They may add this in future betas.

Is this not a public beta?

No.

Well, I feel silly. Total slip - meant to say alphabetically.

Nope - I just entirely used the wrong term. I meant to say alphabetically. The dates are also sometimes out of order though, but that's more a data entry issue I'd say.

I don't like that albums in album view are sorted by artist. Does that not kind of defeat the purpose?

*EDIT - Never mind, you can change it in Settings > Music > Sort Albums.

Because Apple is a collection of people. And different people have different ideas of how things should look and work. Apple has their ideas, others have their ideas. And in some instances, you might prefer the work that Apple didn't do. Apple isn't exactly the only company out there capable of making good design.

And they used to have one person at the top that said "no" more often than they said "yes". It looks like they have a committee that doesn't know what to say now.

The music app is so buggy for me that its not at all usable :(
It crashed on every song change would sometimes stop playing in the middle of a song.

rolled back to 8.3 for now will try again on a later release.
