I still have my slide rule kicking around in my tool chest. I have absolutely no clue how to use it anymore. Siri did pull up a number of sites when I asked "how do I use a slide rule?" Looks like there is a nice free one on the App Store!Yeah, my slide rule is still on the same OS version that it had in 1973. Fantastic!!!![]()
what version are you on and what exactly doesn't work? I'm still on CC2015 and I'm holding off upgrading to High Sierra because of potential problems...Hope they're working with Adobe (or Adobe with them rather), can't upgrade until the issues with InDesign and Illustrator are sorted.
It ran some out of place process on my machine and said the file system verification checks were incomplete. Rebooting brought up a message that the update package was missing components. Oddly enough, performing first aid on my disk and rebooting solved the issue, and finished the installation successfully (albeit slowly). Never had any issues with other software versions at all.I've never had a problem with the first version of any previous MacOS installs, yet High Sierra has killed 2 out of 2 Macs I've installed it on. One only required a reinstall on top of the previous install, the other couldn't even see the hard drive, went into "Internet Recovery mode" and installed Mountain Lion.
I don't know what I was thinking, trying to install the first release of an OS. Didn't even get past the "calculating install time" for High Sierra. Then a kernel panic. Now restoring from Time Machine back to El Capitan.Already had a kernel panic on my MacBook Pro and I haven’t even had High Sierra for two hours. Getting sloppy over there in Cupertino.
This is not new to 10.13.Hmm...this is concerning. After all the Developer testing and the countless users running the Public Beta and then to still have so many issues to release an update within a week?
It varies. Could be tomorrow, or next week. Often the same build as the developer release, so if you want to get it at the same time as developers, run this command in Terminal:do they usually hold the first public beta off a bit or do you think it will be shortly?
sudo softwareupdate --set-catalog https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-10.13seed-10.13-10.12-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz
This is completely normal. This is a beta of an update with features that didn't make it into the first release, and non-showstopping bugs they found late in development. It won't actually release for a few weeks, at the earliest.Hmm...this is concerning. After all the Developer testing and the countless users running the Public Beta and then to still have so many issues to release an update within a week?
I honestly don't understand what is happening? I also wonder if it is related to the lack of follow through on support contacts. I know personally I have a number of unresolved issues that remain open that have gone to senior advisors or engineering of which I have never heard back with any feedback.
[doublepost=1506536153][/doublepost]I guess new is new.....

The update could also include features Apple has delayed for a later set of betas, such as iCloud storage for iMessages, and we're also supposed to be getting some new emojis soon.

No, please.
One "Kernel panic" and Apple is going to the dogs?
I have run the developer betas since Mountain Lion and have never had a "kernel panic."
I actually don't know what a "kernel panic" IS.
Hope they're working with Adobe (or Adobe with them rather), can't upgrade until the issues with InDesign and Illustrator are sorted.

Same boot time as on Sierra on my 2017 iMac, maybe even faster.maybe they can fix the slow boot problem:

There are three bugs I've been looking forward for them to fix. First is only partial support for exchange 2016 in Mac Mail. Second, text messages show up out of order in iMessage. And finally connection to SMB shares that use DFS have been unreliable. If they can get those fixed, I'll be a happy camper.
As a developer, you should know what a kernel panic is.

I'm running the latest CC and I haven't encountered any issued with High Sierra beta or the official release. (I did with Sierra though and that was because of SoftRAID.) Let me know and maybe we can figure it out?
Can anybody confirm it does solve it? I am waiting for the fix before I install High Sierra.Hopefully this resolves the whole keychain security issue.
I've not upgraded because of the reported problems. The ID one is this: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2376594, Illustrator is having some swatch and colour management issues.
Oh and why are you still on CC 2015?
Appreciate that although I'm also concerned as I use Time Machine with my Drobo 5D and as far as I can make out that isn't possible with APFS. I'm ok with waiting a while. For once I'm going to be sensible!
