This is the first version of a Sierra update available as a combo too.

But there is something else which is new now.

There is the usual firmware update which comes with macos updates - but also a second one called embedded os firmware.

I suspect this is because of the touch bar:

Can someone tell me if the issue with resolution on Ultra wide monitors has been fixed?

I have a LG 29" Ultra wide with default resolution of 2560*1080 but so far MacOS Sierra only show 1920*1080 as highest resolution.

Apple has had a rough week, but Sierra has been great.

I think their software has been better than ever this year with WatchOS 3, TvOS 10, iOS 10 and MacOS Sierra.

Unfortunately, their hardware across the board seems to be hurting or in dire need of a breath of fresh air, with real features consumers want.

My Logitech wireless mouse back button no longer works. Reloaded the software and reset the mouse. I'm sure it will be solved but this is the first time for this issue.

I upgraded to macOS Sierra briefly over the weekend but I noticed scrolling very slowly on my non-Apple mouse resulted in no scroll movements on screen, which doesn't happen under El Capitan. Makes precise scrolling movements on macOS Sierra painfully difficult. Can anyone confirm whether this behaviour has been corrected in the 10.12.2 beta?

You mean the logitech scroll of doom in sierra bug ? Hopefully this will be sorted as soon as they realise logitech is popular.

Please fix the bug where windows lose focus every time I enter Mission Control or switch desktops. It's driving me up a wall, ffs. (I sent feedback, just ranting)

It works perfectly on my Early-2011 MacBook Pro. No major issues. Far better than El Capitan and Yosemite in terms of performance. I'm actually really surprised at how well it runs.
This is great news, as 10.10 really was a step down, performance wise for me on my mid-2012 MBP [matte, hi-res, non retina screen]. El Cap doesn't beachball as often, but still performs worse than 10.9.

Question: did you do a fresh install on your early 2011 MBP, or a typical upgrade?

It messed with my Photoshop and Illustrator performance. Did a fresh install and it got even worse. Not specifically Apple's fault, but still.

Kind of fed up with Apple atm.
I have those apps but don't use it often. Thanks for heads up..but what was it that it messed up?

Do you have a link for this?

I can't find the exact article I read, but these two allude to the security change. Essentially, Sierra requires root to mount things into /Volumes.

macos Sierra (10.12) automount on login -- keychain functionality ...
http://apple.stackexchange.com/ques...plescript-mount-volume-keeps-asking-for-login

This apparently is because Apple changed the behavior of the /Volumes directory to automatically flush anything added to it upon logout. There's a security story there that I haven't followed through and read about.

10.12.1:

The System Profiler still can time out with Extensions. Some people still use hard drives (finally they released a 2TB 2.5" SSHD which I ordered on the first day).

OpenGL is still 4.1 on 4.5 hardware

OpenCL is still 1.2 on 2.x hardware

RX 460 stills appears as "R9 xxx" (maybe this gives trouble with benchmarks).

At least they cant do much wrong with this. Like stealing my 2012 Macbook PROs useful ports.
They are there and they will not go anywhere.

(Okay. I do have ONE Adapter. And thats a thunderbolt to VGA adapter for some projectors. Cmon folks.)

Sorry, Sierra automatically replaces all of your existing ports with 9 pin serial. It will also put chocolate in your dog's food and kick your grandma. You should switch to a PC immediately to avoid this impending chaos. Quickly. Now.

Maybe this is the one they fix battery life.
No, to fix that you have to buy a new MBP. I have the same problem and I am not surprised, frankly. Now I have to carry a dongle around called a power supply - maybe its conditioning me to the new technology that Apple is rolling out - dongles.

I don't have a Logitech mouse. From what I can see it affects a lot more than just Logitech mice, if what issue you are referring to is the same as mine. I use the Zelesouris Ergonomic Vertical Mouse. I've simply noticed in macOS Sierra scrolling one notch at a time results in no movement on screen whatsoever, whereas in El Capitan the position on screen would scroll at least a pixel or two. It really makes it difficult to scroll slowly when you need precision, so I can't upgrade to macOS Sierra until and unless it's fixed - which is a shame as I find Sierra to be a bit faster than El Capitan on my iMac.
