What he said was completely true, WiFi has not been an issue for months. It's your router.

yes its the router, thats why people with specific models of macs are the only ones having issues, because they all have the same router and not the same computers

As if buying a new router will fix it, wasting money on something that doesn't work, some good advice you gave in your post.

I am not claiming most people have WIFI problems, I just say there are still WIFI problems and that is a fact.

What router have you got? Ever updated the router firmware? Is the router at least N compatible?
You think you will have issues on a modern router. Wasting on money something that doesn't work, lol.
I'm sorry you are right, wifi is not working in Yosemite and there are millions of complaints everywhere

Buy a new router.
Wifi is working fine for the majority of people and has for months.

WiFi has so many variables and your generalization is ignorant of that fact.

And it is not a secret that Apple rewrote WiFi and Bluetooth stacks in iOS 8.x and Yosemite to enable Handoff/continuity. As a result, it introduced many bugs, including on-going Bluetooth and WiFi issues that many people are having (that did not exist in iOS 7.x and Mavericks).

P.S. I have WiFi issues with both Apple Time Capsule (the latest version) and Asus RT-N66U. As well as Bluetooth issues.

Yes and these got fixed with the first bunch of updates. People that are still having major issues with wifi on 8.3 or 10.10.3 are having crap routers or never updated their router firmware. As you said many variables indeed but pretending this is still a major issue is ridiculous.

Have you tried this: Delete all contents of the following folder, then restart your Mac: Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/System Configuration
restart computer. Solved it for me. If you want cut it to the desktop first

I also have Wi Fi issues AND I am using an Apple Time Capsule. Like someone else said, just because some of you don't have issues doesn't mean the issue is fixed. In fact, every time I update to a new beta the issue seems to resurface, at least temporarily. My time capsule will say it is no longer part of my network and I should move closer or check my settings. I have searched the web, tried numerous fixes, but the issues persists. So, I for one am hoping Apple actually addresses it in SOME future release!

Can't come soon enough - 10.4.3 has been very unstable for me. At random points safari stops taking any keyboard input at all until I restart.

I beg to differ - I have update every time there WAS an update and I continue to have issues. I have a time capsule not a "crappy router" Just last night I had to unplug the router, restart my computer and hope for the best. If that's "fixed" than I'll eat my hat!

No, it's not working fine, I still have WIFI issues, also on other routers.
But, it is better than before.
YOU don't have problems doesn't mean others don't have issues.

Like you, I had fought for months with wifi issues. Eventually I fixed my problem by getting an Airport Time Capsule and Airport Express. I'm sure that at this point, that is also Apple's solution.

I have the current generation AirPort Extreme (same radio as your Time Capsule probably) and also an Asus N66U and have absolutely no trouble with wifi. In fact my wifi is rock solid across all my Macs (new MacBook Pro 13, older MacBook Pro 15 and a fairly old Mac Pro) all of which are running 10.10.3.

I can't explain why everything works for me and my family, but you're having problems with almost the identical routers and OS X 10.10.3.

Make sure the firmware is updated in your Time Capsule and Asus router. A word of warming, I had to redo my Asus router settings from scratch as part of the firmware update, so be sure to write them down before performing the firmware upgrade.

You may also want to try this trick:

Also, if you're using DHCP, use the DHCP server from the Time Capsule. The one in the Asus is awful and unreliable IMHO.

Good luck

Are you using Fixed IP addresses?
bad DNS numbers?
You reset the time capsule?
Tried clean installed of OS X Yosemite at one point?
faulty time capsule?
Updated time capsule?
****** internet provider?
Spoke to Apple?
Spoke to your ISP?
Tried Windows?

If not than maybe better luck in Sep/Oct with 10.11.0 :(

Yeah, tried most of those. I haven't spoken to my ISP because they know NOTHING about Macs, and I do mean nothing. Haven't spoken to Apple but i may have to give it a shot.

Windows - Not a chance!! :)

Funny enough: Yosemite on my MacBook Pro hates my router whereas Windows running through Boot Camp is infinitely more reliable.

I have an Apple Time Capsule (A1355) and still have WiFi issues on my 2012 21" iMac that started with 10.10. Sometimes takes a minute or two to work after waking up and sometimes even then I need to toggle it off/on. My WiFi devices (various Macs, AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV, Belkin Wemos, Nest, iPads and iPhones etc.) do not have any issues.

My D-Link 868L Router and super cheap tp-link modem work great too. I'm sure most other decent routers do as well. Would love to get time capsule tho if not for the hefty price tag.

I never install a .-1 release...

I always install a x.0 release...

I'm so glad we can be here and talk about 10.10.4 that we all just downloaded and installed.

I have an Airport Extreme thats been rock solid for years. In the early 10.10.1 builds it would hit and miss if a version gave me wifi issues. In 10.10.2 this stabilised and I had no issues. In the early 10.10.3 builds it was still solid. In the final 10.10.3 preview and the actual release I have wifi issues when waking from sleep - wifi shows connected but there is no internet traffic for about 2 minutes after waking.

The networking issues related to Apple rewriting their dns stuff in discoveryd is well documented. Stop blaming software issues on people's hardware.

I wonder if they'll release OSX 10.10.4 with iOS 8.4 with support for whatever changes they'll make to Music / iTunes Radio / Beats. I'm liking this new trend of coordinating iOS and OS X updates as long as they don't skimp on bug fixes to maintain the scheduling.

Does anyone actually use 10.10 besides people who just bought a Mac and don't know any better?
