I am not even sure how they managed to do that. Standard Cocoa controls all do this by default. Windows are resizable, fullscreen mode works by and ‘source lists’ (sidebars) can be widened. They must have purposely prevented all those things, haphazardly. :/

But why should they do that? It's such a stupid crap. Seems someone forgot to work on it. Did the version number even change since the first beta of 10.11(.0) I never looked at it.

Edit: I have the old one too, but it's from Yosemite and I don't know if it could cause a damage.

Installing the Delta Update on top of the patch changed nothing. It does not even recognize that there was an update, sending data to Apple was still turned off. That's what I always do first after an update and did it already after the patch.

Steve is rolling in his grave! Why so many betas? When Steve was alive there have been no beta releases.

Still rocking my Jaguar iMac G4! Stable as hell! Apple is going down the drain.

Now where is my Bull cassette cartridge.
Why so many Betas? Maybe they want to get it right. There were Betas when Steve was alive. Enjoy your G4.

Steve also didn't want an App store for the iPhone. Originally.

He was not always right, you know.
Thanks! I completely agree with you!

Did you subscribe to the beta updates? Most people are not supposed to get beta updates unless they subscribe to them and are willing to put up with it. It gets tested then released to everyone after, lots of betas is a good thing.

I wonder if this update will actually fix the issue where Safari freezes the entire system... its only been present since 10.11.0...
been getting that since mavericks. at least once a week. doubt it solves it. i've always though that was because i swapped my HDD for a samsung 840 ssd (seems to me it started right after that). but then again it's a 2007 iMac, can't complain.

Will this be the last version of El Capitan? To be consistent with Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite it should be.

But not necessarily. So will there be a 10.11.6? Maybe. Maybe not.

Probably whoever designed the GUI for Sierra from Innovative Interfaces. Very clunky. Not very thin, either.

If it is the last version of El Capitan, be quick to download the full installer if you haven't done so already once 10.11.5 is publicly released because then soon after that 10.12 will be released and El Capitan will disappear altogether from the Mac App Store - Just as Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite did before.

It is good that apple still sell Lion and Mountain Lion via other means so you can still get these but they have made it impossible to download a legitimate copy of mavericks and yosemite for those who haven't already.

Of course if you have already downloaded them they are still available for redownload via the purchases tab in the mac app store. But that doesn't help those who haven't done so and now wish to get mavericks or yosemite. The same will soon be true for el capitan.

You can still download Mavericks and Yosemite from the AppStore from the purchased tab.

Hoping for that too. This problem occurs almost every day on my rMBP, it annoys the hell out of me!
It's strange, because I have never had this happen, on any of the computers I use regularly. I wonder what the cause is.

Against better judgement I was hoping they would beta test iTunes this one time.

Well sometimes they do release itunes betas. They didn't this time but as chrfr said, if they do it would be a separate download.

The only time a new itunes is bundled with an os x update is in full installers, not delta or even combo updates.

With this beta and iOS 9.3.2 dp1-the home Sharing to my iPhone stop working.... But it still work with ATV4

Did they fix the finder's lack of proper cut/paste with cmd+x/cmd+v?
Did they fix the green button to maximize windows without hiding the menu bar or the dock?

If not, I'll stick to Yosemite.

Yes. I said that. Provided you have already.

The problem is for those who haven't already.
why would ANYBODY want to download mavericks if they never used it before (thus don't have it in purchased tabs?) like, your comment doesn't make any sense.

CUT in finder? os x never had it? (or did it?) i never used it because i thought os x didn't have cut as cutting files is a very risky thing. ONLY COPY.

and no they didn't "fix" green button maximize. there's nothing to 'fix" as it isn't broken. maximize by double clicking the title bar.
