Inverse Question: Is the battery life on the beta better than 14.6? I feel my iPad isn't as good as it should be for battery drain and it sadly came with 14.6 preinstalled whereas my iPhone is still 14.5 and staying there.

This is the best update to iOS ever! Runs so smooth and not a bug in sight! Has a real glassy effect!

Installed earlier this morning and has been running smooth for me (iPhone 12). I do like the update to the weather app, finally integrating some Dark Sky features within it -- plus, notifications!

I'll play around with the PB for a couple days, but may revert back to iOS 14 eventually.

Anybody out there with an iPhone 12 Pro on the public or developer beta that can talk about battery life? I was an iOS public beta tester from the moment they offered up public until iOS 13. The first few betas destroyed the battery on my iPhone X to the point I had to roll it back to 12 and haven’t been a public beta tester since. Yes, I know they don’t really optimize for battery life until near the end but having been a public beta tester of every iOS release up until iOS 13 I’d never had a beta be so bad with battery life that I couldn’t make it from 7:45 AM until 5:30 PM before I had to recharge. I’d love to test again and am fine with lower than what will be normal battery life but that was a bridge a bit too far for me with iOS 13 so I passed on 14 altogether but I’d like to try it again (getting a good backup first).

I don't understand how Apple decided that the clock widget should get a frosted background but the rest of them are in either pure white or pure blacks... funny enough the apps themselves can only go as far as grey. I think the widgets would look beautiful if they had that transparent frosty look so it would blend better with the wallpaper

Do I make the same mistake I make every year, or have I gained some self control?
I’m hearing what you’re screaming. I have half-self control; I put it on my iPad but not my iPhone.

must…resist…

I actually decided to go back to 14.6 on my iPhone 12 ... my daily driver, it is.

Really liked the new Weather app, Safari not so much. At least I'll have options (such as Edge) when this is finally released.

But my iPad's being updated as I write this!!

If the crap stock weather app is what’s being mentioned then this sounds sad. I don’t even use the old one. Plus safari is a downgrade. Why bother putting this beta on?

I have since iOS 8 always installed betas. I did this one just for notifications. It’s just much better

Sodry if I’ve been thick but why has iPadOS 15 reduced the number of apps on my iPad screen ? Is the option to fit more apps on one home screen gone ? I had carefully chosen the right number of apps so everything fitted on the first screen and after installing the beta they take up two screens and the icons look weird with so much space

I'm a glutton for punishment, but I can't help myself. I'll keep it off my phone, but everyone else gets the upgrade. I CANNOT WAIT for the Driver's License to be in my Wallet App and to have one less reason to carry a physical wallet.

My 12 Mini battery has been put through absolute torture these past few Beta cycles between 14 and 15. My phone has been "indexing" for 3 days now with 15 Beta 2. I thought the smaller phone would be a good idea...never again. Pretty sure I'm done with Beta testing after 15 actual hits. This has become utter nonsense.

I've also experienced random bouts of a very warm phone, even after zero activity, with this Beta 2 release.

FWIW, My iPhone 12 Pro went thru a few days of Indexing like that, rebooting, phone getting real hot especially when charging... I'm pretty sure the size of your phone has nothing to do with the issues you're referencing. These things should all be expected during the beta testing process.

No, I understand that the size of the phone has nothing to do with the issues I'm having. But the battery life has been abysmal since 14.X and given my daily average use, it's simply not the right phone for me. I expect hiccups, but the lack of efficiency over several iterations of the updates has been frustrating to say the least.
