No, I understand that the size of the phone has nothing to do with the issues I'm having. But the battery life has been abysmal since 14.X and given my daily average use, it's simply not the right phone for me. I expect hiccups, but the lack of efficiency over several iterations of the updates has been frustrating to say the least.
Maybe try a backup & restore? I know mine's a different device type, but before you give up all home on it, a Restore generally fixes a lot of issues..

The Safari UI has me holding at 14.7. Apple should offer a toggle option to move forward with iOS 15 and be able to revert to the iOS 14 Safari UI.

to be honest, the only positive thing ive noticed is the new iOS Safari. I am like a kid who always peeks at his Christmas presents, I always install all the betas on all devices.

watch OS. no major improvements or drawbacks noticed on my S3. the SMS look different but no better or worse.
Mac OS. struggling to see a difference on my 2017 iMac. one crash but that could be anything. only thing I see is the new safari which on my Mac I dont like the tabs, ugly and less easy to notice.

iPad OS. major drawback is the removal of the 'more' home screen layout. on my old air 2, the screen looks bare as the icons are so far away. doubly annoying specifically for me is that I had purposely reduced the number of apps on my iPad considerably to make them all fit onto the first screen. only mitigation is the dock seems to take more apps and the rest just have to be removed from the home pages.

on the phone, only thing ive noticed is the safari, and I really like it. for one handed use its much better and after a day the lower menu bar seems more intuitive than the old idea.

Not meaning to take this out of context, but I think this might be the only reason to have the Address Bar at the bottom as opposed to the top. But again, at least for me, whenever I tap the Address Bar I'm then immediately grabbing my iPhone with both hands and typing away. The VERY few times I've been stuck with just one hand, it hasn't been an issue to tap the Address Bar at the top.

Also, glad to see your S3 Apple Watch is still going strong!

I really like John Gruber’s article explaining his experience with iOS 15’s current state of Safari’s Ui … https://daringfireball.net/2021/07/safari_15_public_betas_for_mac_and_ios

I even used an S0 until last fall. (And there's still people holding on.)

It's mostly the battery life that eventually drove me to upgrading to the SE.

YES! I second all of this 100%. And it's all so obvious.

I ended up second hand'ing my wife my S4 and got the S6. It was getting to be under 30% or so before I'd even get off work. Many times I'd just find that it was dead. My wife wears it less often and for less time, so it's worked out. I've even been tempted to put watchOS 8 on my S6, others have been saying it's just as stable as the iOS betas..

Yeah, it seems mostly fine on my SE.

On first bootup, it was very sluggish for a few minutes.
