Guys. My moms phone is dying randomly with iOS 11... and her phone is relying on this update. Any news on the battery for older iPhones such as the 6, 6s, and 7 with 11.1?

Yeah, it's not like there anything else in updates aside from emojis.

It's called release notes . And in the past some have focused on emoji . I get the concept of software updates ;) vague release notes don't help.

Sure, they don't help as much. Doesn't change the reality that a whole lot more goes into release.

For me I just hope they;

1) fix battery life
2) fix the messenger app where occasionally messages show up beneath the visible line and you can’t scroll down to see fully without going back and re-entering your thread or re-opening the app.

They’re two things that make your phone feel real basic and crap.
[doublepost=1508720236][/doublepost]Sometimes ‘delivered’ shows up beneath the line when you open the app.. and these things aren’t even the beta’s fault. Just 11.0.3

Apple becoming Sony! Instead of focusing on Stupid emoji they should fix iPhone 6x battery issue. It’s becoming more and more unbearable! Looks like idiots are sitting at Apple.

I'm not sure that's correct. I'm on Beta 4 (11.1 15B92) and the Feedback app is still on my phone.

Are you sure it just hasn't moved?
Definitely sure. Strange that it’s still on your device. Seems to be there for a few others on here too. But definitely gone for me.

Public Beta - feedback app is still there
Developer Beta - feedback app is gone.

Feedback app will stay for public beta. You need to remove the beta profile from your phone and reboot for the app to be removed.

At least that was my experience with the iOS 11 public beta.

I feel like usually (in my experience) stability issues for early Apple releases are way overblown, but I have to agree. However, it’s more understandable in my case cause I’m running it on a 6+ (possibly the worst device to run iOS 11)

It's not overblown. I have a less than 2 year old iPhone 6 and it has so many issues. The apps don't load or crash. When they load there is a huge delay. It's been quite painful.

Funny enough after a week with iOS11 I bounced back to iOS 10 for my both my iPhone 6 and iPad Air and its the best tech decision I have made for some time, smooth as butter and no battery issues.

And I bought an Apple Watch so I was forced to go to iOS 11 as the watch wouldn’t pair with iOS 10.

Fix the Health App disaster. Not nice to loose all of your accrued Health Data.

Wait what. How did you lose data? I just started using the app as I bought an Apple Watch. Don’t you store it on the cloud?

Embarrassing that iOS 11.1, is ONLY JUST becoming what the iOS 11 public release should have been. Unacceptable that high-paying customers should be left with half baked software on premium devices for over a month. A lot of kudos here for Apple "fixing" things... "fixing" things that were broken because they release a half finished product in the first place isn't something to celebrate. It's like me selling you a shoe with no laces, then getting praised for giving you the laces a month later.

IOS11 has totally messed up the Health Data and the watches ability to properly record activity and heart rates. In addition IOS11 merges data from our two iPhones randomly, sweet. I had my watches for two years, No significant issues with the Health App or its Data. Then upgraded one Watch to Series 3, and iPhones to IOS11, all hell broke loose. Worked with Apple about my lost Data, basically starting over. We use a shared Apple ID, so Apple suggested I us a different Applle ID. Understand been using this configuration for Two Years No significant issues. Family Share does not work for me, causes more issues then it solves. Not a family, just two of us. The issues are in the Cloud. The watch and iPhone are performing well. I could write a complete thesis on this issue, the above a 30k overview.

If Health Data important to you, I would not trust the Cloud. Backup the iPhone to iTunes incripted. Also you can turn off iCloud in settings for the Health App.

Reality, Apple needs to fix this.

there's nothing to fix here... you're not using your devices the way you should.
basically, you need a different Apple ID for every users... this has always been the case... but truer now that everything is in the Cloud.

I've been using the same Apple ID with my wife in the past... but I've switched her to her own Apple ID a few months ago to make sure there's no "cross contamination" of our data.

Besides in app purchases that are not shared, Family sharing works well for me.

Always, really. Then why does Apple allow a user to use their product incorrectly. Especially if that product misuse could cause the loss of data? If this is infact a requirement, I call it BS, then Apple needs to clearly state that “without using Family Share you Will lose Data”. Show me where they do this in any documentation. Secondly the install program should, at the very least, put up a warning message, like “using a shared Apple ID will cause loss of Health Data”. Reality, a good program would Never allow a user to configure a system to potentially loose data, programming 101. Terrible implementation and supporting programming any way you look at it. Not what I expect from Apple.

Ive noticed that my SE will wake up in landscape mode when 10.x never did and sometimes it's difficult to get it to switch to portrait. Hope they fix this soon.. Really annoying. Although I haven't seen people complaining about it so maybe it's just me.

Happens to me on my 6P and iPad Air 2 but also happened on both with 10.x so who knows. Sometime I've had to reboot to get it to go back to portrait.

It pushes people who don't care about security updates/patches (but do care about emojis) to update their devices.

I don't know if that's Apple's thought process but that is an excellent point!
