Emoji's are as important to the OS as all 26 letters. If someone sends you an emoji you don't have on your OS it has to handle it in some way. User choice is still there, you can choose to use them or not.
They are important as they drive adoption. The point is the average person has no idea what a cev is or culver security is but they know the faces

Can somebody check if the animations on the latest ipad pro 12.9 or 10.5 are smooth? More specifically, I’m interested if the horrible shutter is still present in the app switcher.

I really hope they fix the stability of ios 11. By far the buggiest and slowest release to date and i'm running it on iphone 8+...
I feel like usually (in my experience) stability issues for early Apple releases are way overblown, but I have to agree. However, it’s more understandable in my case cause I’m running it on a 6+ (possibly the worst device to run iOS 11)

Clearly their beta program is not working out for Apple.

I mean sure, if you are an app developer you want to know if the next update breaks your app and so you can write a fix for it, but rolling out a Beta and blog sites reporting about all the new emoji is part of the problem with this program. It's full of vapid users trying to get access to the absolute latest Apple features before everyone else, and then failing to test or report even the most trivial of issues that are introduced with every iOS release.

If the program moved away from people just wanting to see what Apple is doing next and focused more on quality beta testing, then perhaps every major iOS rollout would stop being a complete disaster for many users.
While there are plenty that use it just to get the latest version, there are also plenty that actually contribute to the "beta testing" aspect of it too.

What is the error?

Probably not it 11.1 is the final build and it doesn't have Apple Pay Cash in it.
it’s still testing privately, definitely official ios 11.1 not next monday the next one
[doublepost=1508528536][/doublepost]U don’t need a developer profile for this gm like the 11.0 right ?

or it's already in there, but just not enabled for everyone.

Don't understand the point of these incremental updates where they put 5-10 new emojis every time. They coulda easily put an "emoji package" into Appstore free to download and left it to user's choice.

They use emoji, way more than 5-10 btw, to get people to update to incremental updates that fix security issues and performance problems. Because contrary to what MR tells you, people love Emoji.

Ive noticed that my SE will wake up in landscape mode when 10.x never did and sometimes it's difficult to get it to switch to portrait. Hope they fix this soon.. Really annoying. Although I haven't seen people complaining about it so maybe it's just me.

I’ve had issues with my iPad doing this, but I can’t recall it happening to my SE.

Is public beta out yet?

Nope... you'll see "Update: Public Beta too!" on the front page story when it becomes available.

One thing to note... earlier this week Apple released a High Sierra Developer Beta, but still 4 days later hasn't followed with a public beta. So it's somewhat possible that may happen with iOS too on this release.

If this is the GM, surely it'd be released the same time as the public GM. Am I wrong? Like the MacOS High Sierra beta just did ?

This build feels infinitely smoother and better than beta 3 on my iPhone 8. For sure it’s GM. Fantastic so far in terms of fluidity and responsiveness. Went ahead and installed on my iPad Pro 10.5 too.
Sweet, let us know how it works on ipad pro 10.5. some of the current micro stuttering all over is annoying and defeats the purpose of pro motion when things arent silky smooth

From girlfriends iPhone 8 Plus

nope, you have proof?

You live in Romania, you can't possibly expect it to propagate through to the CDN DNS in Romania instantly lol

It pushes people who don't care about security updates/patches (but do care about emojis) to update their devices.

Sadly this is the way Apple is going these days, emphasis on emojis and talking poop

But will this fix battery and performance issues on older models like iPhone 6(s)?
