Do people really report all errors or problems with these betas? Isn't that what all these betas are really for? I mean if people use these betas but don't report crashes or problems how does Apple issuing all these betas help?

Even the people that don't bother to send in actual bug reports, as long as people don't turn off the send logs to Apple and devs, I'd imagine they get a huge number of those that can end up being quite helpful to them as well.

For the build number fetishists. ;)

Eh, why not. I have run all of the previous betas with mixed results. The only thing that has kept me going back to iOS 10 is the music complication not working correctly with my S2SS Apple Watch. Perhaps it will work with this build. Here's hoping, as it is installing now.

STOP! Take a deep breath and relax. I have a 6S+ and the beta works fine as my daily driver. A little warm after updating due to indexing, but so far so good. I would think today's update will be even better.

Thank you Possum80! My strained wallet/anger management skills and stress levels thank you x x x

I owe you a virtual siri beer.

Is anyone running this on an iPhone 6S+? I am terrified Apple will "optimise" the experience for me
by slowing my amazing phone to a crawl to "encourage" me to update to a 7S+ or 8...

Please guys, I am panicking. Someone assure me it runs like a dream! I cannot afford any updated tech!

We won't know how it will really run until the final version is released. Betas are always going to be buggy and not optimized for performance.

Question: My 10.5" iPad Pro is out for repair right now (lightning port died) and will arrive this evening as a completely new unit. Can I install beta 4 on it OTA and restore a backup that was in beta 3? Or do I need to manually get a copy of beta 3 and install that from my Mac, restore the backup, and then upgrade OTA to beta 4?

You'll want to set it up as a new device, install DP4 OTA, and then go to "Settings > General > Reset > All Content and Settings" to get back to the initial setup process, and restore from your DP3 backup then (whether using iCloud backup or iTunes backup). You don't need to go to DP3 first, but will still need to get to DP3 or DP4 to use your previous backup.

When everyone is having the same problem there's enough reported. From my data usage i'm assuming that Apple is getting a spin dump crash report every time the home screen crashes which is about every 10 minutes or so.

Got it on a 6s+ and beta 3 was good other than battery life still having some issues (not as bad as beta 2 or 1 though)... Completely workable, just had to charge it up more often than normal.

My iPhone 6s Plus is slowed af. True. For whatever reason it just does random secret **** in the background. I cannot find much info from it. It cannot even play HEVC video without frame drop.
This is beta but I fear iOS 11.0 will be in similar performance in September. Apple has the incentive to just drag old hardware down to crawl, and they have good track records on this one.

I report issues all the time. If I don't report it, I'm worried it won't get fixed. Especially if it is application related.

Keep spamming apple with bug reports until they bring back the 3D Touch app switcher. It may work, we got them to put star ratings back...

Downloading now, hoping battery life is even better than B3!

I wish that was the case for me. Battery life was the single issue that is causing me to roll back to 10.3.3 right now after just using 11 over the weekend.
there was an excessive used of the GPS by the "Motion calibration and Distance service" so as "Compass Calibration" on the Beta3. Turning off these location services and the background app refresh helped fixing the battery issue.

I tried PB2 on my iPhone 7
It lost the ability to see my Apple Watch via Bluetooth

Until someone can confirm iOS 11 works OK with an Apple Watch (not on beta), I won't be installing this on an iPhone

I use my iOS 11 iPhone and my non-beta Apple Watch Series 2 with no problems at all.

Here's to hoping for a PB within a couple days!
PB1 was actually pretty good, but PB2 ... man it is flaky stuff. UI lag/freezes a lot, battery time is pretty low, back light sometimes doesn't come on for a few seconds until after the device was woken up, amongst other issues.
It's a beta so I'm not upset, but still will be nice to leave those issues behind :)
