Wow am I glad this is here. I accidentally enrolled in the 9.1 Beta thinking that it was the 9.0 GM back when we were still on iOS8.

I've kept with it and things seem to have been smooth on the second beta. The third was terrible! Maps kept telling me to proceed to the route even though I was already there and communications between the iPhone and Apple Watch were often out of sync or simply not working.

I know that I can restore back to iOS 9.0 but my backups are on 9.1 and I'd rather not lose anything. I'm just waiting for a good beta to opt out of the beta program and then wait for the public releases to catch up.

Pretty good beta

How do you see when they label a bug as a duplicate? I've reported it several times and have never seen that.

It's says Status: Closed (Reason: Reported as duplicate of issue ID #xxxx)

iOS 9.1 offers new features and compatibility updates for upcoming Apple products like the new fourth-generation Apple TV and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The iPad Pro ships with two accessories, the Smart Keyboard and the Apple Pencil, both of which are deeply integrated into the operating system.

Maybe nitpicky, but when I saw this, I read it as the Pro comes with the keyboard and pencil. A better way to word this might be that the "Pro will release alongside two accessories, the Smart Keyboard and the Apple Pencil."

Have these bugs been fixed? I submitted them a couple months ago and they were marked as duplicates :(

Maybe it has to do with App Thinning?

I think this is due to their new caching system.

I noticed if I blown off the RAM on the same session, the apps doesn't get terminate anymore.
This is most likely a local disk caching. It's going to caused delay as the app open.

App thinning is the app store thing, not really a local device process.

If I have to read "Downloading Now..." one more time, I'm going to scream. That's the whole point of the beta, you download it. We get it. We all get it. Seriously. We do.

You know, if the mods are going to delete "safari snappy" comments, shouldn't they delete "downloading now" comments? Consistency, please.

Wonder if it will fix the broke ass email search. Takes minutes for results to come back. Anyone else seen this?

Also scheduled reminders that have a mind off their own since ios8. Tick one off the list reorders itself, trying to tick off multiples and you'll end up ticking things you didn't expect.

Weekly calendar view spazzes out trying to edit appointments. Apple software and quality is not what it used to be, sigh.

I agree it is most likely on purpose. Since launch day I have suspected it was the intention of Apple to remove the haptics. I am just hoping it is a bug and will not concede it is definitely on purpose until iOS 9.1 launches without the haptic activation feedback.

This was one of the first things I noticed when I got my 6S. But not in a bad way. Apple hadn't mentioned just how fast Siri would be. Just like that article states, there is absolutely no reason to give feedback that Siri is listening when it is instantaneous. For those that say they just like to know she is listening, any feedback, whether haptic or otherwise only serves to slow down the process. One would naturally wait until they feel it, or otherwise think that they made a mistake and started speaking too soon.

My iphone 4s keeps crashing & restarting when I have automatic app updates enabled. It seems to be a low memory issue, but does anyone know if this has been improved in any way in this latest beta?

I don't disagree. What you said is precisely correct for someone who has faith that the system is going to work every time and who wants to start dictating actions before the UI for Siri even launches. However, it seems some people still find visceral value in having the feedback. And it needn't "slow down the process" too long. Look how quickly the phone gives you a no-no vibrate when pressing an icon without 3D Touch shortcuts. The haptics from the Taptic Engine are very quick.

Often I use Siri when half distracted with some other task and without looking at my phone at all, activating it out of mindless muscle memory. I find that the activation feedback from Siri effectively cuts through my focus on the one task and efficiently shifts my attention to my Siri request. Since getting the 6s I find myself stopping what I am doing and focusing on Siri while I am activating it. I also tend to activate Siri faster than I have fully formulated my request. I find that the half-a-second it takes before receiving the activation feedback on an iPhone 6 perfect to mentally draft my request before I begin speaking. A couple times I have even found myself accidentally having triggered Siri while just holding the phone (usually by holding down the home button to unlock the phone while chatting to someone); then I look down to see that Siri has a transcript of what I have just been saying. For those incidents, I prefer to have feedback that informs me that I have mistakingly activated the service.

Suffice to say that some people like feedback, the same way some like hearing the dialer make key tones, the keyboard click, the phone lock, or an email whoosh when sent. Obviously some people don't require this feedback, but some prefer it and they will have to adapt or, failing to, will cease to utilize the service.

As I said previously, I agree this change is likely not a bug and I understand (and even agree with) Apple's possible reasons and logic. Nonetheless, I dislike it and pray this isn't the case.

God dammit Apple. They still haven't fixed the Settings bug where the list scrolls down a bit on first open after quitting.

I don't think that's a bug. It's to accommodate the long settings list on iphone. If it didn't open scrolled down a little bit, the general settings would not be visible at first. Some users would find it irritating to have to look for the general settings menu as it's arguably the most important for changing very basic settings on the device.
