Issues with After Effects will be Adobe's problem to fix, not Apple's.
Why do people not get this?

People are dumb. People are ignorant. People like to blame other people even though its not their fault. People like to attack the big guy. People are stupid. People are people.

I am installing over Screen Sharing / Back to My Mac. I was surprised to see the installer screen, i had assumed my session would have been punted for the install process, but it reconnected after reboot. Neat!

Doing the same here from my iPhone, and I was also surprised! Got 21 minutes to go.

Beta 4 has installed as has right build number but oddly not showing up in updates that it's installed

I am experiencing something strange. I finished the update and the build number is 15A243d even though 9t0Mac says it is 15A244d. But more importantly the PB 4 is not showing on my app store update history. The last one is from 30th July, version 3. No record of version 4 which makes me think something went wrong. Any ideas?

Same for me. I don´t think it is a problem.

I still only see beta one from jul 10 on Apple store.
There are no full installers for others?

Perhaps because Apple's own apps have been screwed up by El Capitan. Final Cut is acting wonky and Logic has numerous graphics glitches. Downloading the update now; hopefully there's a fix.

I'm sending feedback to Apple every time I find a bug. With Yosemite's Beta, I'd do that a few times a week. But with El Capitan, it's becoming a second career.

And all of those issues [using beta software to be expected] will eventually produce updates from all third party developers, including Apple's own consumer apps.

So, at this point why does Apple even bother having separate Developer Previews and Public Betas?

Dev Previews target Radar specific reports from the Devs, hence why they are on a more unstable version when tracking down bugs.

Public Betas targeting one hundred fold more users will trip up bugs that are far less common and less critical, but will make the operating system more stable, over time.

Mine is 15A244d - installed it yesterday. Developer Preview 6
It seems to be like that with each version. PB is released a day later than DP with a lower build number, maybe to make developers feel that they are ahead. :)

Dunno if somebody else has already reported this, but the icon for 'General' in System Preferences now has a green theme, rather than the orange/pink it was before.

Crazy thing: my iMac went to this black screen during installation; didn't on my rMBP - same beta update

Hoping this build fixes Exchange Mail.app / Calendar issues some of us have been experiencing. Anyone that has had issues with Exchange getting any love with this build?

Thanks for the info!

I like how the icon change matches the change in wallpaper colour scheme. Yosemite's wallpapers had orangy-pink theme while El Capitan wallpapers are blue-green.

The builds are the same they just use one digit or letter different usually between the two types (DP and PB) so that the App Store knows what to look for when an new build is out and not show you a DP build when you're on PB. (Just like how on iOS 9 if you remove the Public Beta Profile off your phone you will see the new DP build, like many did from PB 1 to get DP 4 of iOS 9 (because build numbers are identical but usually blocked because the profile.) OS X doesn't have the profile, so they have to just change the "build number" by a digit or letter to allow that to not happen.

You can switch between public beta and developer beta for OS X as they are released.

App Store looks for updates (public beta or developer beta) based on the set catalog url.

Sorry mate, iOS 9 is dead lol. No just kidding idk but i'm currently in process in buying an iPad Mini. Love to test iOS 9 on that baby.

iOS 9 Beta 4 running particularly bad on my iPad mini 2 -- ironically earlier beta versions were much smoother. Safari is especially laggy and slow to keep up with touches. Hope next build improves performance.
