This latest PB has been horrible for me. Everything beachballs, Office 2015 hangs/crashes like it's going out of style, and LogMeIn Client is unusable.

I guess I had my hopes up b/c the first three PBs were pretty solid in comparison. This one, not so much. But FWIW, I knew what I was getting myself in to so I was prepared for some instability...just a little disappointed that things are going in the wrong direction with stability.

Edit: 13" 2015 rMBP

Why would subsequent betas be worse in terms of stability and fixes? This is going backwards, it makes no sense.

Anyone else having the "cannot connect" to (or sometimes even SEE in Finder) any shared or network drives? Been there for every build of this beta for me. I mean ZERO network drives... not my NAS, not my Time Capsule, not even my other Macs for screen sharing. Occasionally, the devices will show, but then immediately disappear from Finder.

Switch over to main partition, running Yosemite, and all is well.

Feedback sent, and got a response requesting other info (of course, the Feedback Assistant Submit button wouldn't work that time).

I downloaded & installed Beta 4 yesterday, but something weird has happened. Everything seemed to download & install with no issues, but now when I view my Update history it says "Version 3" is my latest update, with no additional updates available...

Nasty new bug here: After the upgrade El Capitan always prompts me to "first open" my startup items. Some don't even start at all - happens on all user accounts (bug report has already been written ). Anyone else who experienced this?
Other than that it really begins to run better and better. Absolutely love the graphics speed on my Intel HD 4000. :)

Happens to me as well, but (oddly) only on my iMac... not rMBP.

Same here, probably just a simple database error that they'll fix soon.

Got constant beach balls and freezing after installing PB4. Never experienced this in previous PBs. Avoid PB4 if possible.

I would really participate in the El Capitan Beta when I can find a way to log in to iCloud because at this moment I cannot and so I cannot test anything. It is annoying and there is no working solution to be found on the web.

Under System Preferences > iCloud like always?

@DustinLH00 no, that would been to easy :) I just found the solution on a Dutch site called: Appletips. You have to change the language from Dutch to English and then You can log-in to iCloud again. So easy and yet so difficult to find :)

Yes, the same bug.

On my 2015 13" MBP i7 I'm getting great performance. No beach balls and much faster app response time over Yosemite. I can see how older systems might not be as stable though.

Before you type so much you shouldn't jump to conclusions about someone you don't know and know so little about their computer system too. For your information I not only have multiple back ups of El Capitan, but also of Yosemite. Don't assume everyone out there is an idiot just because some apps crashed. I'm ignoring you.

Hell the last two days I've bumped into a few nasty characters on this forum so I'm logging out for a while. I'm not dealing with people's first world problems.
Don't let them ruin your experience, just ignore those people.

ended up installing firmware update from developer beta 6 (https://imzdl.com/osx.html) and it seems working now!

hope it'll help

I've had a persistent problem with my older MacBook not properly installing PB 2.. Apple App Store shows 8 versions of PB 2 installed with a ninth one pending. Does anyone know what's up with that, or have any of you experienced this issue with El Cap?

Just an update.. it appears ninth install was the charm.. PB 3 and PB 4 followed on and installed without incident, all applications fully operational, all interfaces nominal.

I hope this update fixes my WPA2 authentication issues at work with Aruba networks routers. I doubt it though. I think it is not going to be solved until the public release when our IT department will be forced to figure out how to resolve it.

Here's a video of El Capitan perfomance on rMBP '12:

Thanks for the video. It is amazing to see how much Apple have improved the GUI animations when using the integrated Intel graphics. They have really done a stellar job with El Capitan. This kind of change is so much better than any new feature.
