Another watch beta where everyone tries a million combinations of tasks to get it to install, and then can't remember exactly what they did to get it to work
speaking of this, what combination did you use to get it to install... I can't get mine to go. currently sitting at 8 hours download time...

The activity complication is now colored on this watch face. It was B&W in Beta 3.

Not sure how I feel about that.

This time I did the simple 'delete current beta profile from phone, install new beta profile to phone, restart, load watch app and check for update' process. And, for the first time, that worked without issues.

I updated my phone to 9 beta 4, and then checked for a watch OS update in the watch app and it found it, downloaded it and is now installing on the watch. I didn't install the profile again or anything. I'm shocked. I had put aside 7 hours to get it installed, and now i'll have to do housework n stuff :(

One of the main reasons I haven't bought it. If you use it all day, and want it to track sleep, wouldn't it need to have a better battery life?
I have 40% or so at the end of the day. That'd be enough to track sleep and charge up while you're showering or whatever in the morning. The real problem is that I'm not sure the APIs are there to access all the necessary sensors.

I don't like it. I really liked the subtle colors in this watch face, but now this complication sticks out like a sore thumb. I'd like it if they offered two options. Also, the alarm, time, stopwatch, and sunrise complications all have orange in them too.

Odd considering the guidance to complication developers is to use the tint attribute. Seems like they aren't playing by their own rules.

I just got an apple watch, and wondered if based on my usage so far if you would guys say the beta is okay to install, pretty much have only been using to view notifications, answer calls/messages and control whatever media im playing on my phone. Given that would you guys say the beta is cool to try. I am aware of the not being allowed to downgrade so im cool with that.

I would advise you to hold off. You wouldn't gain much, and there are issues (speed, memory leaks causing eventually lock up, etc) that will frustrate you.

Go to watch app on iPhone, check for new software and install - Easy

Yes it is now, but believe me in previous betas you had to sacrifice your firstborn and wait for the planets to align before it would work. It actually took less time to gestate a baby than to install previous betas.

You mean the one where it's not accepted at enough places where I shop, and Walgreen's makes me press about 50 buttons to use it?

50 buttons at Walgreens? For the Walgreens stores I go to I simply put my phone near the reader and my thumb on the phone's home button.

About 2 seconds... (Edit: when I enable ApplePay on my Watch I suspect it will be just as easy).

Guys. I updated iOS 9 to b4. Installed the watchOS profile (from beta 2). And the watchOS update finds and shows available update 4. Start downloading it on my watch (which is with os 1) but after a while it shows me an error downloading failed. See attached. What could be the problem ?image.png

I would wait. The betas don't add much without new watch apps made for 2.0, which are not available unless you are writing them your self ATM. Beta 3 made my watch nearly unusable at times.

in the UK here, tried to finally get apple pay setup on watch but keeps saying "could not set up Apple Pay" :(

I've got my Santander Card up and running now on my Apple Watch, It took me several goes to add the card but it eventually worked. It's probably being bombarded with requests, keep trying and hopefully it'll happen for you

When has Apple ever played by the rules they give everyone else for iOS devices?

(Not that they have to, it is their sandbox...)

This is the beta I've been waiting for. Beta 3 was a disaster for me. Random reboots, really slow animations and screen brightness was low.

Here's things I've noticed already:

  1. Apple Pay works.
  2. Animations are very smooth. Beta 3 was extremely slow.
  3. UI bug with customising a watch face while time travel is enabled fixed.
  4. Apps appear to load faster.
  5. Siri isn't as slow as Beta 3 but isn't as fast as watchOS1 or iOS9
  6. Wrist detection for turning the screen on now works when you're lying down.
