Are you kidding me, Apple? No support for the iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G? Why would you do that in the middle of an OS?

there is nothing more the iPhone 3G can handle....its already slow with all the new features it has...anything else to kill the speed even further makes the 3G unusable....if people got the update, and it made their 3G slower then it is now, then people start complaining about how much slower it is with that update....so there is no reason to include the 3G in any further updates. Its a 3 year old phone now and doesn't need ANYTHING else. Upgrade

It would be pointless if they were only adding features they don't intend for those devices to support (read: Airplay).

I'm betting this is it, as Apple will probably also say the 3G isn't powerful enough to support personal hotspots.

UI aside, I guess AppleTV really IS the same inside! I kind of assumed it had some very specialized, reduced variant of iOS, not “real” iOS, but it must be a lot closer than I thought, if it’s getting simultaneous beta releases.

Maybe because of the adjustments they have made to Airplay?

But I wish it was to add Apps, Broswer and other functionality and beat ATVFlash to the boat and give users legitimate functionality the possible jail broken ATV has.

Considering that the Verizon model hasn't been released yet, I'd go with "no"

1. iOS 4.3 enables Airplay video from 3rd party apps to AppleTV!

2. iOS 4.3 enables 5 device hotspot for GSM iPhones (carrier must allow for it.)

3. iOS 4.3 enables MAJOR new multitouch gestures for iPad including a pinch to go to home screen from within apps, a gesture to move between apps, and a gesture to open the multitasking panel. The rumor now is perhaps the iPad 2 has NO home button to make it smaller!
